Oracare Mouthwash “Merrymint” | No Sting, No Red Lips

By Blessmybag @blessmybag

We’re talking about what we get to talk with, our mouths.  I’m proud to report that I am a cavity-free person.  I’ve never had a single cavity nor had a major bad breath problem except for when I was sick and acidic, or sleepless and acidic, or naturally if I had satisfyingly drooled on my pillow (or your shoulder) after an exhausting day.  Oh by the way please…*clenches fists and bows head* PLEASE…everyone look at the blackboard, when we’re referring to “breath” as a noun there’s no “e” at the end of the word.  Breathe is the verb “We breathe air in order to live.” which does have an “e” at the end.  Again, breath is the noun “She gave her last breath and died (and so did everyone else in the room because she didn’t use Oracare).”  That’s it, thanks, just spotted both words being misused often especially on Facebook so had to clear that up.  Okay, now back to the subject of one’s oral hygiene, I actually didn’t have any problem with previous mouthwashes that stung to be honest, I was okay with the strong sensation.  What I didn’t like was how red my lips would get after rinsing with the standard issue mouthwash.  After brushing my teeth before applying makeup the last thing I needed was my lips becoming super red and clashing underneath my lip shade of choice.  After that, and the hassle of a next step in my oral regimen, I stopped using mouthwash.  Vanity…I know, but if you happen to be an artist you’d totally be able to relate.  So recently I tried this.

“OraCare Mouthrinse is a stabilized chlorine dioxide mouthrinse. Its alcohol-free formulation keeps the mouth’s natural moisture and provides a clean, fresh feeling without the painful burning sensation and sting. It is gentle enough for the mouth’s sensitive and delicate tissues so it can be used as often as needed.”

PRICE: 80ml PHP 57.20/ 250ml PHP 156.20

- Gets rid of bad bacteria that causes plaque build up, gum disease, and tooth decay

- Neutralizes volatile sulfur compounds–the true source of strong mouth odors.

When I first saw billboards of this I thought the taste would be awful, couldn’t imagine it otherwise.  As it turns out, it isn’t awful, in fact it’s hardly anything, it’s like water with a jab of refreshing peppermint that doesn’t get your lips red.  It’s like light peppermint water BUT with a lasting effect.  Sometimes people confuse strong sting for what combats bad breath but what’s more effective is a compound that can neutralize sulfuric odor compounds in the mouth.  I also use this to rinse off and disinfect my retainer for my teeth which I wear to sleep at night.  It’s a very light neutral taste but once you’ve rinsed with this any acidic foodie film or presence in your mouth tastes like it’s completely gone, especially if you’ve properly brushed your teeth beforehand.  If you’re one of those people who relies ONLY on mouthwash for a clean mouth please leave this page now LOL, you stink.  I do want a mouthrinse that regularly doesn’t turn my lips red and Oracare does the job nicely.
