Hola!
In what may be one of the last posts in honor of the Breast Cancer Awareness month, here is a look at 4 nail lacquers, in varying shades of pink, from Catrice Cosmetics.
I have a couple more nail lacquers from Catrice Cosmetics -they were the first products I picked up when the brand first launched in Singapore. At S$5.90 per bottle and with a good range of colours to choose from, these are really worth checking out.
Made in Luxembourg, the nail lacquers are packaged in simple cylindrical bottles with a black cap. The only thing I don’t really like about the packaging is that the shade names are printed on transparent stickers on the bottles – sometimes, the print fades off the sticker label or it peels along the sides making it look messy.
The brush is fairly wide – perhaps as wide and dense as the OPI Pro Wide brushes so I need to be a little more careful when applying the polish to my pinky fingernail.
I love the formula of the Catrice nail lacquers – most of the shades I’ve tried (with the exception of one – Fred Said Red which had a jelly finish) are creamy and opaque. In some cases, I could probably get away with 1 thick coat but I usually prefer 2 coats to ensure evenness.
I adore all 4 shades I have – I have worn these as manicures and pedicures several times over these last few months. Let’s take a closer look at the pretty pinks.
Karl Says Très Chic is a milky blush rose. The soft blush rose is very feminine and polished. For such a pale shade, it paints beautifully, leaving no patches or bald spots. Karl Says Très Chic is part of a smaller sub-collection of nude coloured nail lacquers called Ultimate Nudes (it is permanent to the nail lacquer range).
Fuchsiarama is a creamy pink with coral undertones. I initially didn’t like this too much because the coral tones threw me off but I’ve grown to like it since.
Will You Berry Me? is a creamy orchid fuchsia – it has purple tones and looks wonderful as a pedicure.
The Pinky & The Brain is a hot fuchsia pink. This is one of the shades I’ve worn the most in the last few months, trumping all the other nail polishes in my stash. I just love love love how bright and punchy the pink is and the added bonus is that it isn’t neon.
To be honest, I initially picked up The Pinky & The Brain at the counter to laugh at the name – does anyone remember the REAL Pinky and The Brain?
Then I took a good look at the color and the polish chart and it promptly came home with me. At the rate I’m going through this, I might need a new bottle soon!
There are a couple other Catrice nail lacquers I have but these happen to be my favourites in my stash – pink shades are always feminine, flattering and I always come round to them.
Have you any Catrice Cosmetics Nail Lacquers? Don’t forget, the Catrice Private Sale is just round the corner (1-3 Nov 2013) so you might be able to snag some of these at great prices.
Thanks for stopping by & have a happy day ahead!
