One of A Kind: The Body Shop Warming Mineral Mask Review

By Lana Ray @crazybeautyland

Over the past year, I've come to realize and appreciate the importance of face masks, more precisely, good face masks. Like every other girl, I've tried the Everyuth Peel-Off Masks in my teenage years. Except for the orange peel-off, none of them did anything to improve my skin & I was getting tired of using peels - they end up doing more harm than good in the long run. I decided to invest in a good face mask because I wanted results, even if it ends up being costly, I have solace in the fact that it actually works! I've been using the The Body Shop Warming Mineral Mask for a while now & I really think you should know about it!

I'm actually surprised that not a lot of people have reviewed this product, I've heard a lot about the Tea Tree mask and Sea Weed mask from TBS, but this one doesn't get as much fame! The Body Shop Warming Mineral Face Mask has a unique formulation that allows it to warm up as it touches your skin. It has to be applied like any other clay mask-on damp skin. As you spread it on your damp skin, it warms up slowly. You need to apply 2-3 layers to feel the warmness. Because of the warm feeling, its very convenient to use even in winters, although it does get uncomfortable on hot summer nights.

The Warming Mineral Face Mask claims to be a "self warming, deep cleansing, kaolin clay mask". This is how clay masks work: A mask with kaolin (a mineral-rich clay), sea mud, or even charcoal does provide a gentle way of exfoliating by coating the skin like an adhesive. When it dries and is rinsed off, the mask theoretically pulls off some dead cells, debris, and oil with it. ( source)

Results: it reduces the size of my large pimples by 50%, medium sized pimples by 70% and tiny breakouts by 90% ; which is just my way of saying that its pretty effective. Thereafter, my break outs fade away quickly in a day or two. Luckily, I do not get acne. My face looks clearer ( detoxed, actually) post use; whenever your skin is clearer, it will look glowy, in my case the glow lasts until the next day. Since it is a clay mask it does dry out the skin a bit, I apply a moisturizer afterwords. I always scrub my face with the St.Ives Apricot Scrub and then apply this mask, I keep it on for about 20-30 minutes.
The one problem I have with this face mask is that its formula separates in the tube; sometimes when I squeeze it out, I get a watery product, the tube needs to be shaken before use so that the formula doesn't separate. I'm disappointed to see that it doesn't have an ingredients list, its also quite pricey, but personally, I do not mind spending upto 2K on a mask as long as its effective. I do not go for facials or clean ups, so this is the only way my skin gets some luxurious TLC.

This face mask was also Overall Verdict: 4.5/5
I'm not impressed with the formula separating in the tube and that ingredients aren't mentioned. Yes, I do wish that it was cheaper, but you win some, loose some. The Body Shop Warming Mineral Mask is a great clay mask that cleans up my skin and tames the break outs effectively. If I have an event, I use this beforehand and I am never disappointed; my moisturizer & makeup go on smoothly afterwords. Recommended !
