OK. Time to Rant on Hurdle a Little Bit

Manager of the Year. Maybe gone to his head? I'll point to 2 specific instances. The first was in the game Saturday. We have the lead in late innings. But bases are loaded and Davis is up. Brewers bring in a LH to face Davis. This is where the game hinges IMHO. Perfect scenario to PH Sanchez. All we hear is how Davis does well against RH pitching and Gaby does well against LH pitching. So we make the switch. Noooooooooooooo, we don't and Davis strikes out. We go on to not scoring. Poor managing.
The second is yesterday. Cole is pitching well. He has only thrown 91 pitches, is leading 2-1 and gets taken out for our closer. I HATE the closer concept. It's likely the most overblown concept in baseball. In this case there is absolutely no reason to not let Cole finish. So Murphy's Law wins again and our "closer" does the opposite. Poor managing.
There are other instances too. Nothing major, but just annoying. Still I think he is the best choice for this team. It's a constant work in progress.
