Oh Yeah…That’s Not Normal

I know I’ve written about this before but it’s just too funny so I have to share.

Adrian does lots of things that to an outsider would look strange. These are things that I don’t even notice because I’m so used to it.

The other day after we went to the open house thing to meet his teacher we stopped off to get something to drink because it was really hot out and I let him pick out a treat to bring home and share with the other kids. We were at the drug store and we walked through and he picked out what he wanted. He was well behaved and quiet in the store. When we got to the checkout he was getting a little restless as we waited in line.

When it was our turn I put the stuff I had on the counter and told him to put his up there. He did. As the guy was ringing up our stuff he had kind of a perplexed look on his face. It was then that I realized that Adrian was jumping up and down very high up in the air, he was flapping his hands furiously, and he had his mouth wide open and a little squeaking sound was coming out. (he was trying to control his moan/scream thing that he likes to do a lot)

I hadn’t even noticed until I saw the cashiers face. He asked Adrian “Do you want these?” about his treat and Adrian said “Yes” I told him to say thank you and he did.

I had a good laugh about it because it’s so funny when you realize…oh yeah…that’s not normal.
