NYX Dream Catcher Eye Palette: Dusk Til Dawn

By Kwilliford @ExquisiteEczema
I have been teasing you with this palette for quite some time.  But I wanted to make sure that it was every bit as great as I anticipated it would be. And the good news is that is a wonderful neutral palette to have.
Shades:
Dusk til Dawn has some wonderful, easy to wear neutral shades:
Violet Smoke: a sheer, deep smokey plum
Light Gold: this looks more like a shimmery light copper
Shimmery Nude: shimmery light pinky beige
Shimmery Rose Gold: more of a rose-y copper than rose gold, but very pretty
Taupe: a matte, well, taupe
Deep Brown: slightly metallic bronze
Grey Brown: this is more of a deep brown, but you can see the grey
Smokey Pink: rose gold with subtle sparkles. This is probably my favorite shade in the palette.
Charcoal: sheer, shimmery dark brown
Black: matte black, love using this as a liner
This first set of swatches was done over primer. but the second set was done without primer.

Clockwise: Violet Smoke, Light Gold, Grey Brown and Deep Brown

Top to Bottom: Grey Brown, Deep Brown, Light Gold and Violet Smoke

Clockwise: Shimmer Nude, Rose Gold, Smokey Pink and Charcoal

Taupe and Black

Top to Bottom: Black, Taupe, Charcoal, Smokey Pink, Shimmery Rose Gold and Shimmer Nude

 Swatches without primer:

The texture of these shadows is incredibly impressive! They are velvety smooth and feel like butter.  With the exception of Violet Smoke, the pigment is great.  Even without a primer, you get excellent color pay off.  The staying power is just as wonderful.  I have worn this palette a gazillion times and creasing/fading has not been an issue for me at all.  They apply well, blend easily and fallout has not been a problem.  However, they can be a teensy bit powdery.  But that is the only bad thing about this palette. And that is even that bad.
I even like the packaging.  These shadows are housed in a hard, plastic case that does a good job of protecting them.  The color of the palette is a dusty rose gold that perfectly matches the Dusk til Dawn theme. The top of the case has 10 round windows that allows you to see the shadows inside.

This palette is $15 at Ulta.  I was very lucky getting this one because every-time I go in the store to find another, they are always out.  Considering the quality and shade selection, this palette is a great value. And if you have a $3.50 off of $10 coupon, it is even better. Bottom line, you need to get this. It is a lovely gem of a palette.  I have shades similar to all of these, but I keep reaching for this palette.
