NYFW Spring 2012 – Day 2

By Behind The Scenes Makeup @BTSMakeup

Doo Ri

At Doo Ri, key makeup artist Tom Pecheux created a minimal, nude look. Soft peach blush was used as a contour and metallic shadow was swept across the lid. No mascara was used at all.

IVANAHelsinki

The models at IVANAHelsinki were given a very bare face to allow the giant black stripes on their eyebrows and underneath their eyes to take center stage.

Jason Wu

I’m loving the bright red-orange lips on the Jason Wu runway. Makeup artists used MAC’s Scarlet lipstick and dabbed their Neon Orange pigment over the top. Like at Doo Ri, no mascara was used, just some liner to define the eyes.

Key Makeup Artist: Diane Kendal for MAC

Joy Cioci

Dewey skin, precise red lips and flushed cheeks. Makeup artists used NARS’ Heat Wave lipstick and Red Square Velvet Matte Lip Pencil to create this gorgeous lip color.

Key Makeup Artist: Uzo for NARS

Luca Luca

Key makeup artist, Gucci Westman on the look she created for Luca Luca, “I was inspired by the designer’s color palette and chose shades and textures that would bring out the essence of the entire collection. It reminded me of the sophistication of an Italian Vogue story I’d seen with girls that looked very luxurious, young and polished. The slightly transparent yet glossy purple eye works beautifully with the lip. It’s glamorous yet approachable.”

Mara Hoffman

The hair and makeup at Mara Hoffman was beyond!!  The eyebrows are perfectly sculpted, eyelids are glossy brown and Makeup Forever’s Rouge Artist Intense Coral lipstick was applied to the lips (with gloss added on top).

Key Makeup Artist: Lottie for Makeup Forever

Rebecca Taylor

Soft grey, teal, and yellow cream shadows were applied to the model’s eyelids and all the way up to the brow. Foundation was applied sparingly and a lot of highlight was added to the model’s cheekbones.

Key Makeup Artist: Sil Bruinsma for MAC

Yigal Azrouel

At Yigal Azrouel, coral-y orange shadow was blended on the model’s eyelids and heavy contour was applied to the cheekbones, the rest of the face was kept bare.
