Seems like a never-ending battle, I know. You just managed to get out of the Summer unscathed, even after your long vacation, you got out without a tan. Bravo! But look at the ways of nature! Just when you thought you were getting pro at battling summer skin care problems, monsoon is here! The humidity, the acid rains, the dirt, the water logged roads, the pollution and oh, the rains – all gets to your skin. One drop at a time. Wear your diva armor and follow these simple tips this Monsoon to (oh, well!) save your skin.

  • Deep cleanse your skin! Make sure the pores can breathe and avoid alcohol-based cleanser.
  • Don’t stop at cleansing, scrub your skin and get the last iota of dirt, microbe and dead cells out of your skin.
  • Moisturize it as often as possible. Nourish it like a baby’s skin and make sure it’s smooth like butter!
  • Before sleeping, tone your skin to weed out all the day’s remnants and to maintain pH balance.
  • Use water-proof make-up, so as not to look like a Zombie, in the event you get drenched in the rains.
  • Keep your make-up to the minimum basics!
  • Don’t pack away your sunscreen. Apply it regularly.
  • Drink paramount quantity of water. Stay hydrated! Stay cool!
  • Got a sensitive skin? Avoid artificial or junk jewelry to avoid any reactions because of the humidity.
  • Make and apply this monsoon mask for half an hour. Oatmeal +Egg Whites + Honey + Curd.
  • Eat lots of fresh fruits and vegetables.
  • Avoid road-side eateries and oil-rich food. Go for light, home-made snacks.
  • Take mild laxatives to clean your internal system for a healthy bowel movement.
  • Monsoon restricts you to use beauty products and cosmetics which are waterproof, especially when it comes to eye makeup and foundation.
  • Say no to bleaching, facial and such fancy parlour based beauty treatments! Go raw!
  • Apply coconut oil or lip balms on cracked lips.
  • Regular manicure, pedicure and waxing would feel smooth and soft. Like a milky ride.
  • Don’t use harsh soaps. Switch to face wash.
  • Use lukewarm water to wash your face. Do it as often as possible.

So you can hear the roars of the thunder and your windows stuttering as the rain lashes out side? You’d like to experience the sensation of water falling on your face? Go ahead! Just keep the above tips in mind, once you’re playing in the rain! Have a Happy Monsoon!
