So this is my first empties post. I haven’t done one before because I didn’t think I used up enough products throughout each month to warrant one. How wrong I was!
I loved this foundation! It gives perfect, medium coverage, glowing, dewy skin. I don’t usually like the feel of liquid foundations but this one is a winner with it’s gentle, natural, organic formula. Repurchase? Definitely.
2. Paul & Joe Cat Collection Blusher Stick in Minou (reviewed here)
This blusher was from the 10 year anniversary Cat Collection from Paul & Joe. It was a lovely pale pink colour which had a nice shimmer to it. Mostly though, I bought it because the top was in the shape of an adorable cat face!
Repurchase? No. As much as I loved this it was a limited edition, and Paul and Joe cosmetics are tested on animals so I will no longer be purchasing any of their products.
3. No7 Perfect Light Pressed Powder
This was...meh...that’s the best word I can think to describe it. It’s not the best I’ve ever used and it’s not the worst. I’m now using a pressed powder from Dr Hauschka though and it blows this one out of the water (full review coming soon).
Repurchase? No. I wasn’t particularly impressed with this and Boots test their own brands cosmetics on animals so I won’t be purchasing anything from them any more.
4. Essential Care Organic Rose Moisturiser
These two sachets were sent to me in this Amarya beauty box. This is the first product I’ve tried from Essential Care and I liked it. It’s effective, gentle and doesn’t have any strong artificial scent to it. What’s more, Essential Care are 100% cruelty free. Happy days!
Repurchase? Yes.
5. Santaverde Aloe Vera Hydro Repair Gel
I initially received a full size of this product in this Amarya beauty box and then received it again as a little free gift with some products I order from Amarya. It feels a bit sticky on the skin while you wait for it to dry and if you’re someone who likes to slather on thick creams and lotions then you probably won’t like this. If you’re a gel person though then this is as good as any others I’ve tried.
Repurchase? Not immediately but I can see myself buying this in the summer months. I think it’ll be especially good if kept in the fridge and applied cold onto tight, sensitive skin after a day in the sun. Santaverde are 100% cruelty free.
6. Balance Me Balancing Face Moisturiser
This is another product from an Amarya beauty box. I was a bit indifferent to it when I first tried it but I ended up really liking it. It’s perfect for my oily skin as it’s moisturising yet leaves skin with a velvety, matte finish.
Repurchase? Yes. Works wells and is 100% cruelty free!
This kit was a bit hit and miss for me. Some products I really liked and others I didn’t, and don’t get me started on the scent! Bleugh.
Repurchase? I would repurchase some pieces from this kit.
I loved this. A lot. It worked a treat on my dry, damaged hair and smelt absolutely amazing.
Repurchase? Unfortunately this product has been discontinued. I’ll be buying Naked’s Repairing Hair Treatment instead.
9. Aloe Dent Whitening Toothpaste (reviewed here)
I picked this up in Wholefoods and have been really pleased with the results given by a fluoride-free toothpaste.
Repurchase? I bought this on a BOGOF deal so I already have another tube to get through! Aloe Dent is a brand from a company called Optima. I can’t find an animal testing policy for Optima so I won’t be buying from them again until I can confirm they don’t test on animals.
This face mask is the shizzle! Enough said.
Repurchase? Absolutely, and I’ll be trying a few other masks from LUSH too. LUSH are passionately against animal testing.
11. St Ives Invigorating Apricot Body Scrub
I’ve been using this body scrub for years. I like that it’s paraben free. Also it’s the right combination of being creamy and moisturising yet grainy and tough enough to get rid of dry skin around knees and elbows. And it smells like apricots!
Repurchase? Unfortunately not. St Ives is an Unilever brand and Unilever conduct tests on animals.
Has anyone finished off any interesting products recently? Good or bad?
