I had a recipe all lined up for you and #meatlessmonday. Then I came across something much more interesting on the internet that I just had to share! What is it you’re wondering? Well, it’s the world’s first ever vegan egg yolk….!
Named ‘The Vegg’, this is an egg yolk replacer, useful in a range of recipes. The company recommends:
- Egg noodles
- French toast
- Custard
- Pan frittata
- Hollandaise sauce
- Liquid base when breading foods for frying
- Liquid ‘yolk’ for toast dipping
Apparently it even looks, smells and tastes just like real eggs, but without the caged farm effect. It is also made from 100% plant-based materials, which means that it’s lower in cholesterol than normal eggs and is great news for chronic heart disease patients and those with egg allergies. The Vegg also donates 10% of sales to Compassion Over Killing, which is fantastic news and a long-term customer investment.
The Vegg is available in many countries including US, Canada & the UK. Just head over to The Vegg for stockist details.
Well, I’m definitely intrigued!
