New MAC Products

As I mentioned before I was super excited for the gorgeous Proenza Schouler X MAC collaboration and my pieces arrived this week.

The packaging is my favorite part of this collection, I know that’s not what it’s about but it really is just gorgeous looking and I’m all about the visuals so I was sold from the start.

Lipstick in Primrose – I’ve had a lot of MAC lipsticks in the past (in fact lipstick is the only thing I’ve had from MAC before) and this is another good one. Lovely reddy/purple color. Deep, good staying power, like all MAC lipsticks it doesn’t dry out your lips. Lovely, and the container is my favorite lipstick container ever.

Nail varnish in Dayflower – I don’t often spend a lot on nail varnish because a) I like to have a big collection and lots of choice and b) I don’t believe any nail varnishes are worth that much because none of them have great staying power. I don’t mean super super cheap ones, I know they take 90 coats to even look remotely even but in all honesty I don’t think I’ve ever had a nail varnish that really stayed put on my natural nails. This one is no different, in fact it seems to chip every time I move. It’s a gorgeous color but so far it hasn’t stayed unchipped for more than half an hour, even when I’m not doing anything at all. I won’t be making a habit of buying expensive nail varnish in the future, for me it just isn’t worth it.

I also bought the RiRi Hearts MAC black eyeliner recently and let me tell you, this is the best eyeliner i’ve ever had. I am informed that this is just the same as the general MAC liquid liner so it’ll be easily acquired in the future, after the Rihanna collaboration is no longer available, which is great. It just has fantastic staying power and a really fine brush for accuracy. I’m really really impressed.

I’d be quite keen to try more MAC products now because this eyeliner is so great and I’ve always been impressed with the lipsticks. What products do you use by MAC? Do they live up to the hype?
