New High Street Make Up Favourites

By Brightowngirl @Brightowngirl
I have been trying out a few different high street make up items recently, some are new and some are just new to me and I thought I would share my thoughts on them with you.
First up we have the Maybelline Dream Flawless Nude Foundation (£8.99) which I don't think has been around very long in the UK. This is one of those amazing lightweight foundations that gives great coverage and a semi matte finish.
This sort of foundation seems to be the in thing at the moment and there certainly isn't any complaints from me, its perfect for my skin. This is a fantastic high street foundation and similar to the YSL Fusion Foundation in finish and the fact it comes with a wand applicator.
The only downside for me is the shade range, as with all maybelline foundations even the lightest shade is a tad dark for me but I try and make it work.
Next up is the Make Up Revolution Ultra Sculpt & Contour Kit (£3.50) which was a present I got for Christmas. I have barely looked at my Nars Domination Cheek Palette since having this, it is the perfect everyday contour/blush kit. I have the shade fair and it is perfect to give my skin some color and shape. The blush is a soft pink/peach shade and the highlighter gives enough glow to the skin without being shimmery. All three of the powders are pigmented, soft and bendable. What's not to love for a palette that is £3.50?!
On the eyes is another Christmas present which I have been reaching for a lot. The Gosh Shadow Collection Palette in To Enjoy In New York (£9.99) has 9 gorgeously pigmented eyeshadows all in purple and gray hues. They are so soft and blend well together. I have some of the soft gray shades on in the picture above, I think it is a great low price palette.
To finish the eyes I am using the new Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara (£7.99) which is one of the best low end mascaras I have used in a while. It has a curved brush, with short bristles one side which adds loads of volume and then long bristles the other to help separate the lashes and add length.
Lastly is this absolute bargain lipstick from Make Up Revolution in The One (£1.00) which is a gorgeous nude shade. It is very pigmented, is a flattering nude and doesn't wash you out. It feels really comfortable on the lips and the only downside is that it wears off quite easily but for a £1 you really can't complain. This is a really lovely lipstick.
Do let me know if there is any High Street Make up products/brands I should check out, I really don't think there is a need to spend lots of make up these days. (Though the beauty addict in me will always want too)
