“Never Ever Felt Hungry and Love My New-Found Energy”

By Dietdoctor @DietDoctor1

Last year about 70,000 people signed up for free guidance, meal plans, recipes, shopping lists, troubleshooting tips, etc., via the two-week keto low-carb challenge.

We've now redesigned and updated the challenge to make it even greater... and it's still free! Just during these first days of the year more than 11,000 people have signed up.

Here are reactions from the brave people who tried it over the last few weeks (including over New Year's Eve).

Feedback

I really enjoyed the low-carb challenge. I have finally found the solution to always feeling hungry. I was a vegan for a number of years, my diet mainly consisted of vegetables, fruit and whole grains. I believed this was the healthiest way to nourish my body until I started learning about LCHF. I always felt hungry being vegan and after a very short time on LCHF, I was satisfied for hours after a meal. I have also learned that I don't need breakfast and even skip lunch on most days as well. Intermittent fasting has also been a wonderful bonus combined with LCHF. I have lost 12 pounds (5 kg) without any extreme effort, finally able to shed the 10 pounds (5 kg) that all of my intense exercising has not been able to touch.

Thank you, Dr. Eenfeldt for all of your hard work and dedication to making this low-carb challenge and website available and accessible for so many. I sincerely appreciate all of the valuable information, videos, recipes, guidance and support. I am a huge fan of LCHF!

Cheers,
Marion

I cooked a low-carb, vegetarian Christmas dinner and my husband, son and his girlfriend loved it. Didn't miss the carbs at all.

I thought the challenge was great. I started just before Christmas during my two-week holiday and I lost 2 kilos (4 lbs). I cooked a low-carb, vegetarian Christmas dinner and my husband, son and his girlfriend loved it. Didn't miss the carbs at all. I always thought low carb would be difficult but with the use of your meal plans it is really easy. Thank you for those. I am going to continue using the Diet Doctor site and have recently become a member. I hope to lose at least 10 kg (22 lbs). I will keep you posted.

Hi Andreas,

When I first signed up for the challenge, I thought I would be able to choose my start date - imagine my surprise when it magically set my journey to begin on Sunday, December 25th! Under the theme of "no time like the present," I began the challenge on a Tuesday, and gave myself permission to have a few treats along the way. Well, this morning I managed to hit my first 10 pound (5 kg) loss mark. I say 'first' as I believe that this is truly a lifestyle change. I can't wait to return to my fighting weight, and enjoy all the fabulous meals along the way!

I am down 3 lbs (1 kg), never ever felt hungry and love my new found energy.

I absolutely loved the low-carb challenge! I am down 3 lbs (1 kg), never ever felt hungry and love my new-found energy. I will continue my low-carb lifestyle because it easily fits into my busy schedule. Your shopping lists were life savers and the recipes so very easy, even if one is a "beginner" cook. I'm looking forward to the future health benefits I will reap from my LCHF lifestyle change.

You have fully convinced me that the LCHF lifestyle is the only way to go! Your website is the best I have ever seen. I am now a member and will be for many years.

I think the low-carb diet is great. I lost 4 pounds (2 kg) in the 2 weeks which is a great milestone for me. The meals are easy to make and I love them. Am not giving up on my weight loss anymore. Thanks for your help.

I think this is a great diet plan. I wouldn't call it that, it's a great lifestyle change. Some days were hard but once I ate my food I wasn't hungry. Then as the days went by, my cravings just weren't there, in two weeks with exercise four days a week I lost 11 lbs (5 kg).

Dear Diet Doctor, I love the challenge for a couple of reasons:
  1. The diet plan and recipes made it super easy to know what to eat. I like to cook, but deciding what to fix has always been difficult.
  2. The recipes are easy and having the shopping list is amazing. I can check my pantry to see what I have and go shopping for the rest. No guess work, no deciding. Just look and get to it.
  3. I am a type 1.5 diabetic, 5'7″ (170 cm) and 132 lbs (60 kg), and 61 years old. I have been a diabetic for 8.5 years. My husband is willing to eat anything I fix and he has loved all the meals. They are tasty. My A1c is down from 7.6 to 6.9 since I started the LCHF eating plan. I have been at it about 6 weeks and the meal plans made it super easy.

I just started them a couple of weeks ago. Before, I was hunting for recipes and struggling along. My next A1c will be in April. I am anxious to see it drop more. I am on a roll now. I was able to get rid of the Victosa. I am taking Janumet 50/1000 twice a day and I was on the Victosa once a day. Now Dr. has added the 1- 500 mg metformin at noon. My numbers are getting better. Most important, I feel good. When I first started the keto plan, it was rough, getting my body to convert from a carb burner to a fat burner. I think I have made the transition. My goal is to stay off insulin as long as possible. I have been eating fewer and fewer carbs as I have been on this diabetes journey, but eating low fat as is recommended for diabetics, is very unsatisfying. I have been on a whole foods eating plan for quite a few years. This lifestyle is very satisfying.

I have felt so successful I got my brother and sister in law to try the LCHF lifestyle. I directed them to your website because I feel you all have the best information. Lots of science based stuff. Brother has been on board about 2 weeks and has lost 11 lbs (5 kg). He is still having trouble with the mood swings. That is the only thing he finds troublesome.

Thank you for your help. Your site is amazing!

Warmly,
Kimberly

Wow I lost 5 kg (11 lbs) and 2.5 inches (6 cm) off my waist.

Wow I lost 5 kg (11 lbs) and 2.5 inches (6 cm) off my waist. I have a chronic pain condition that makes exercising almost impossible and was feeling pretty depressed about my weight gain but I am now eating good food and feeling better about my body image. I had to Google some of the ingredients but was surprised to find that most of them were available here in New Zealand. I love the shopping lists and my food bill had dropped.

Very pleased I found your site and will certainly become a member.
