NEBRASKA FOOTBALL: Capital One Bowl Jan. 2

By Huskerlocker @huskerlocker

It is the Nebraska Cornhuskers against the South Carolina Gamecocks at the Capital One Bowl in Jan. 2 in Orlando.
The Sunday night announcement gave Nebraska placement in the highest profile bowl since 2002.
Bo Pelini raved, "Outside of the BCS, the Capital One Bowl is arguably the top bowl game out there. Our team has battled through a lot this year to reach this point, and we look forward to the opportunity to earn a 10th win this season."
The South Carolina Gamecocks (10-2) lost to Auburn and Arkansas, but ended the season with an impressive win against Clemson. Bo Pelini says the South Carolina team will be a "big challenge." Nebraska has played against the South Carolina team in the 30-21 victory in 1987. Playing against Steve Spurrier is not new for Nebraska. The Huskers met Spurrier in the National Championship game at the 1995 Fiesta Bowl when he coached the Florida team.
12,500 tickets for the Capital One Bowl, at noon on January 2 in Orlando are on sale at 9 p.m. tonight. Tickets for the game are $87 and Husker fans may also place ticket orders in person or by phone through the athletic ticket office beginning Monday morning. The ticket office is located in the Stadium Drive Parking Garage and can be reached by calling 1-800-8-BIG-RED.
