I had the opportunity to chat briefly with junior guard Lindsey Moore, a vital cog in Connie Yori's 2011-2012 machine.
BC: What drew you to play basketball in the first place?
LM: I grew up watching my dad play at the YMCA and my two older sisters both played, so I was around it a lot.
BC: Did you have any idols growing up?
LM: I loved watching Jason Kidd.
BC: Many players have worn double-zeroes before and all seemingly have individual reasons. What’s yours?
LM: I wear double zero because I have two "O"s in my last name.
BC: You were named No. 1 recruit in the state of Washington by ESPN in 2008. What was Nebraska’s recruiting pitch?
LM: They have great academic support and athletes are taken very good care of in general. Also, I would be able to play in front of a big crowd and the fans were awesome. Additionally, they told me that they play a lot of people so there would be a really good chance of me playing my freshman year.
BC: What have you learned from Coach Yori over the years that you’ve applied on and/or off the court?
LM: To always compete, work hard and to put your focus into whatever you are doing at that time.
BC: Do you have any special game time rituals?
LM: The only thing I really do is listen to music before every game.
BC: You’re off to a 9-1 start, one of the best in school history. What does that mean to you and your team?
LM: It means that our hard work that we did in the summer and pre-season is paying off but we still have a long ways to go.
BC: It’s your first season playing Big Ten basketball. Are there any schools you’re looking forward to playing the most?
LM: Iowa and Ohio State are two schools I'm looking forward to playing.
BC: Have you heard any rumors about the Big Ten’s style of play?
LM: Not necessarily rumors, but I've heard about how all the teams are very good and its a great conference.
BC: What are your personal goals for this season?
LM: I want to be at a four-to-one turnover ratio.
BC: If you could give advice to young women who want to play college basketball, what would it be?
LM: Work hard and don't waste a minute on the court. Make sure its something that you love to do and put your whole heart into it but make sure its stays fun because it should be!
