By I Prefer Organic @ipreferorganic
Do you believe in natural remedies? I remember when I was a kid, I hated them. When I was in my 20s, I neglected them. Now, I love them, especially when they are simple and easy to prepare. The recipes here are natural remedies for coughs. When there is a need, I usually prepare a couple of them for me, my toddler or my husband. The rest are taken from my grandmother or other family members (some of them have never ever bought a medicine for coughs). All these natural remedies for coughs are tested and have proven their positive results.  In most cases, they are even tasty or at least tastier than any medicine you have bought.

Natural Remedies for Coughs – Ingredients

In some of these home remedies for coughs, there is onion. The benefits of onion are not as widely researched as those of garlic. Still, it is known with its anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory properties as well as with lowering the risks of getting certain types of cancer (e.g. colorectal cancer, laryngeal cancer  and ovarian cancer). In order to keep the healthy benefits of the onion in these natural remedies for coughs, it is very important to avoid exposing it to steam for more than 10 min or leaving it chopped at room temperature for more than 2 days.

Other ingredients are black radish, honey, tea from basil or tea from quinces’ seeds.
