Nars Duo Eye Shadows in Isolde-Review, Swatches and a Cheap Dupe

Nars Duo Eye shadow in Isolde

Isolde is a Nars duo eye shadow compact comprising of a vibrant deep gold and a shimmering copper. Together the colors complement one another well, and  can help you achieve that perfect "bronzed goddess look". The quality of these eye shadows is very impressive, they go on smooth and silky with no fallout and the hues are highly saturated with pigment. In my opinion, Isolde is one of the only Nars duo’s in which the colors are both well coordinated and exceedingly pigmented. These colors will look stunning on many skin tones and all eye colors, and they are especially flattering on blue eyes. That being said, if you are unsure of which colors to go for, I would highly recommend Isolde. Like all of the Nars eye shadows, a generous amount of product is given, and the packaging is sleek, elegant and sophisticated.

Another key point to mention, is that not only is Isolde gorgeous, but it is also a surprisingly unique color combination. The closest dupe I could find is in the Cover Girl Golden Sunset trio which has two similar colors. However, the Nars Isolde is a lot more refined and pigmented, where as the Golden Sunset can look chunky and flakey on the skin. But as you can see in the swatches, you can build up Golden Sunset to the same level of intensity using three times the amount of product. I'll admit that they look very different swatched, but practically speaking, when I wore the eye shadows on each eye, side by side my eyes looked almost identical. Overall, I still prefer Isolde because you need a lot less product to achieve the same look, but if you are on a budget, you may opt for Golden Sunset instead. Another dupe can also be found in the old Smash Box Soft Box palette which has since been discontinued.
