PRODUCT: Nacific's Phytoniacin Essence and Fresh Herb Origin Serum
The Review
Nacific Fresh Herb Origin Serum is also known as Jun Ji-Hyun's serum or the "Damn Serum" because of the tingling sensation it gives to damaged, oxidized skin. This antioxidant-enriched serum enhances elasticity, prevents premature wrinkling, balances oil, and moisturizes and tones the skin. It also boasts of Aloe Vera, that relaxes and soothes irritated skin. The Nacific Phytoniacin Whitening Essence, on the other hand, is a "whitening" essence that contains brightening ingredients such as niacinamide and vitamin C derivatives that gives a synergistic effect to leave one's complexion bright and radiant. It also contains hyaluronic acid that offers a potent moisture-retention effect and Bamboo sap that also gives moisture and makes your skin supple to touch, making it re-energizes.
Aileen's Experience
This duo was the first essence + serum that I introduced to my routine when I finally decided to invest more into skincare earlier this year. I first got the Fresh Herb serum and expected my skin to really sting upon use 'cause I had some untoward reaction to Pixi's Glow Tonic (don't know why though, maybe I used it wrong) - it left my skin oilier with some dry patches and made my pores bigger and more noticeable. Surprisingly though, I never felt even a sting so I took it as a good sign. However, I noticed that the consistency (it's half oil, half aloe vers extract that you have to shake before using) is quite oily so I ended up using it only at night. I used this continuously for two weeks and noticed that it indeed hydrated my skin better but then stopped using it when I got another serum in the mail.
As for the Phytoniacin one, I used it since I got it and have continuously used it 'til date. I surprisingly loved it 'cause it's good for both day and night! Not too oily and it gets easily absorbed by the skin leaving it well moisturized. However, as for it's brightening effect, I have only noticed it SLIGHTLY, but IT IS THERE! The effect isn't instantaneous so you really have to use the product religiously. I'm planning to use it all up before switching to another essence, though overall, it is a good essence to try!
Are These Worth It?
Hmmm.. tough decision but I would say GO for the Phytoniacin, and SKIP the Fresh Herb if YOU ARE NOT A PATIENT PERSON and can't wait for months to see its full effect. But don't worry, it will really be worth the extended patience! I will be back to using the Fresh Herb from time to time, just switching it up with my other on-hand serums.
