My Sister’s Here! A Prayer Come True…

By Jenrene

This  won’t be a long post, but it will be one that I shall remember. I have prayed for this  moment for a very long time.

There are small things we often take for granted. One of the things I really and excited about this year is the fact that my sister relocated to Tulsa, Oklahoma, where I currently live.  She and her husband had talked it about it for several months, and finally after a  few months, it was official: they were moving to Tulsa in January! On January 28th, 2013  my husband and I picked them up from the airport at  about 12:00 am!

Me and my sister, Darryl

Having almost gotten over the shock of  the fact I actually live in Oklahoma, now… having my  sister move here, is EVEN MORE SHOCKING! There MUST be something for us to do in Oklahoma  Who would have ever  known? I would have thought that this would be the place we would both wind up living and enjoying life, together.  ( WOW!!…)

Having your sister move to the same city as you, after being apart for almost thirty years, is like, awesome, to say the least! I am not certain how many folk have the opportunity, but  I do and I am glad! It feels good to have  my best friend ( next to hubby),  near my side.  We plan to do so much, together. We have photography in common, and we both enjoy writing.

My sister and I and my cousin Kim are all like  connected in some spiritual way, we tend to think alike, like some of the same things and have some of the same sentiments. So it feels good to have her near. One of the things I love most about Darryl  is her warmth. She has a way of connecting with people  that magnifies her personality and she is very friendly.  I have two siblings that are that way, in fact, she and my brother  Reggie. ( But that’s another story… I will introduce you to my brothers, later. ) I will keep you updated on what we are up to, through the blog, so stay tuned! It’s going to be a blast!

Do you have a sister that lives  near you? What kind of things do you all like doing together? If you don’t have a sister nearby, what do you enjoy doing when you all do get together?  Even though Darryl is my biological sister, I  I feel the urge to  create a  writing series on sisterhood… because a sister is someone that is defined to me as:  a woman who is close to you and connects with your spirit and has  a connection of intimacy of some kind with you.

Stay tuned for that writing series… it’s gonna happen!

Have a blessed day!
