September was a busy month of testing for me. I tried a lot of new products, and a lot of products that are just new to me. Either way, this monthly favorites post could get a little lengthy as I have quite a few things I would like to talk to you guys about.
1.) ColourPop Fall Collection
ColourPop's fall collection was everything. They gave homage to the 90's by releasing some of the most stunning eyeshadows and lip colors I have seen in a long time. The collection is so perfect, I couldn't just pick one or two things to put in this post. I had to include the entire collection. But in all honesty, I don't even have the entire the collection. Just trust me on this. If you don't already have it, you need to check it out ASAP.
2.) Fruit of the Earth 100% Aloe Vera Gel
After trying out the Clarisonic, my skin hated me. It broke out badly and felt horribly dry. I did some research, and a lot of people swore by this stuff as a facial moisturizer. I had my doubts, but it actually works really well. It provides just enough moisture for my oily skin and it seemed to help calm my blemishes. I also love using it as a shaving gel. It works a lot better than any traditional shaving cream I have ever tried. It is also very cheap and easy to find at Wal-Mart. As a word of caution, it is possible that it will sting pretty badly at first. The very first time I used it, it was so painful that I had to wash it off. But I tried it again and I have not had the problem since.
3.) Benefit Air Patrol BB Cream Eyelid Primer
This is a product that seems to be polarizing. You are going to love it or hate it. There is no middle ground. I happen to love it. It is the first Benefit product that I have used and loved. It works well worn alone or as an eyeshadow primer. It has SPF 20 and it helps cover up any slight discoloration of the eyelid. The applicator is unique in that it is supposed to be even more gentle than your little finger. And that is true, butI still have to use my finger or a sponge to blend it properly. But it extends the wear time of my eyeshadow, has SPF 20, and helps look a little more put together after a workout. So I can overlook that little detail.
4.) Bath and Body Works Marshmallow Pumpkin Latte Shea and Sugar Body Scrub
Bath and Body Works is a store that is every bit as dangerous as Target. I walk in to get a couple of the Wallflower scents. As soon as I walk in the door, I am greeted by the new Marshmallow Pumpkin Latte line, and each item is on sale for $7. Everyone knows I am a coffee lover. And even though I am not a huge fan of the pumpkin spice latte (peppermint mochas are what I wait for), I do love the way they smell. Since it is the time of year skin starts getting more dry, I figured I needed a body scrub. Well, I happen to love it. It exfoliates well and leaves my skin feeling so smooth. Plus it smells amazing. I cannot find this online, so it may be something that is only available in stores.
5.) Swirl and Sparkle Solid Brush Cleaner
This product is an Etsy find that I first saw on Instagram. And now I am obsessed. Guys, I like this better than the Beauty Blender Solid Cleanser. And I thought that was the best. Nope. Swirl and Sparkle will make you enjoy cleaning your brushes. For one thing, the packaging is adorable. There are different designs you can choose from, as well as different scents. The cleanser does a fantastic junk at removing gunk and your brushes feel even softer than before. I will be doing a full post about this product soon and I will include all of the details there.
6.) Pixi Glow Tonic
Guys, this product is 100% worth the hype. It is gentle, effective, and smells amazing. It is a little pricey given the size, but it is worth it. It has brightened up my skin and even gotten rid of a few bumps that were just under the skin. You know the kind that only you can see? Yeah, those pesky little things. I know it was the Glow Tonic that helped because nothing before got rid of them. You can now find them in store at Target. =)
7.) Cetaphil Antibacterial Cleansing Bar and Moisturizing Cream
This is another product that has been helping get my skin back to its usual shape. Within a few days, my blemishes started drying up and I have had fewer since using it. Some still pop up on occasion, but it is nothing compared to a month and a half ago. If you are having a difficult time with acne, I suggest trying this out. It is very inexpensive and can be found at your local drugstore. It is formulated for dry skin, but I have found that it actually can be drying on my oily skin. As a result, I have started using Cetaphil's Moisturizing Cream. It doesn't break me out and keeps my skin soft. It comes in a huge tub and will last forever. I alternate it with the Fruit of the Earth Aloe Vera Gel.
8.) ColourPop Ultra Matte Lip in Midi
Oh, man. I love this color and formula so much. Midi is an amazing nude for me. It is only slightly darker than my natural lip color and it is so lightweight that I forget I am even wearing anything. Plus it is only $6 and stays on all day.
9.) Wet n Wild Celeb Sighting Lipstick (Here's to the Wild Ones Collection)
If you need a budget friendly matte red lipstick, you need to try this one if you can find it. It is amazing. It goes on smoothly, does not dry my lips out, and pretty much stays on all day. Actually, I have tried a lot from this collection and have not been disappointed yet.
Celeb Sighting is the middle shade. To the left is On The Ave and the right is Coffee Buzz.
10.) Fekkai Color Care Technician Luxe Color Masque
This is the best hair masque I have ever tried. My hair is very dry, and it needs all the help it can get. I use it as a leave in conditioner. I don't even have to use any styling products when I do that. It does an incredible job and banishing frizz, it doesn't weigh my hair down, and it looks healthy. I am almost done with my first jar and I have all intentions of buying it again.
11.) ColourPop Metamorphosis Quad
This quad is deceptively simple. Two of the shades are transforming, which means they change the base you use with them. However, the two included neutral shades are nothing to sneeze at either. They can be used to create a neutral eye or used as a transition shade for other looks.
12.) Pixi Endless Brow Gel Pen
This is a must have. It is a tinted wax, so it simplifies your beauty routine. With this pencil, you can fill in your brows while keeping them in place at the same time. It takes maybe 10 seconds for me to do my brows now. Maybe more like 5. Good stuff.
13.) Mirina Collections 'Andy' Necklace
I am crazy about this necklace! I have never owned anything like it and it is the very definition of a statement piece. It is the perfect way to dress up a simple top or dress. And if you use the code atlantan20, you can get 20% off site wide.
That is it for my months favorites. I can't wait to see what October has in store. I would be much happier about it if the sun would return to use, though. That being said, I know things are going to get dicey along the east coast, so everyone please stay safe! Also, my thoughts and prayers go out to everyone impacted by the shooting in Oregon. No one should be killed or discriminated against because of their religion, skin color, race, gender, etc, ect... But sadly there are still many that harbor and breed hatred.
I love you guys and hope you have a fabulous Friday night! Stay dry and warm. It is a little chilly out there, which I am loving right now.
