My May Favorites

By Kwilliford @ExquisiteEczema
I always enjoy reading any kind of "Favorites" post, but it can be daunting to come up with your own.    It took me a week to weed out the products I wanted to include, but I finally did.  Here is the creme de la creme of what I have been using in May.
I also want to start incorporating some non beauty products into my monthly favorites posts just to spice things up a bit, so at the end I will talk a little about those.
Beauty Products:
I have a few skincare products that I have been really liking for the last couple of weeks.  They have made a huge difference in the way my skin looks and feels. I want to review these on their own, as well as do a detailed post on my skincare routine, so this is all am I going to say about them for now.
  • Kiehl's Blue Herbal Gel Cleanser
  • Kiehl's Over-Night Biological Peel
  • Elma and Sana Ghassoul Clay and Rose Water (review here.)
  • Chantecaille Rose de Mai Facial Oil and Cream
  • Mario Badescu Facial Spray with Aloe, Herbs, and Rosewater
  • M.A.C' Prep+Prime Blemish Control Gel

NYX's Slide on Eye Liners have become my all time favorite liners ever.  They are waterproof, long lasting, and the pigment is excellent. These are a must have. You can see my full review and swatches   here.

I have found two drugstore mascaras this month that I love: Cover Girl's Super Sizer and Rimmel's Wonderlash mascaras.  Super Sizer does a great job at increasing the volume and length of my lashes, but sometimes I feel it is a little heavy and harsh on my lashes if I use it everyday.  Enter the Wonderlash mascara. It feels so light weight and it has argan oil, so it conditions my lashes.  It also does a good job lengthening and separating my lashes, but it isn't intense or heavy.

Yves Saint Laurent's Parisienne has long been a staple perfume of mine. But it had been replaced by Guerlain's La Petite Robe Noire, then by Tom Ford's Velvet Orchid.  This month, Parisienne has made its way back into my heart.  It isn't too sweet and it lasts for more than a couple of hours.
Kb Shimmer mani shots are amazing.  I had my reservations about them at first, but they are great.   My nails looked a lot healthier and my cuticles are in much better shape.  Plus they smell great and anything that fizzes is always fun.

I have been loving MAC's Wash and Dry Collection a lot, too.  I didn't expect to love the products because I know their limited edition collections can be very hit and miss. But I have been enjoying everything so far. I think the Steam Heat lipstick is my favorite, though. You can see my more details post about this collection here.

Randoms:

I want to take a second to talk about the amazingness that is the Smile candle from Bath and Body Works. Oh my goodness. This is my favorite candle of all time. It smells like pink lemonade and makes your entire house smell like heaven. It isn't one of those dinky candles that only cause the bubble around it to be scented. Oh no. This one will take care of the entire house. Right now it is on sale for $11.25. Get on it. Now.

Yogi tea has become an obsession of mine.  Specifically their Detox, Ginger and Green Tea Kombucha varieties.  They have a fantastic taste and I always feel better after drinking them.  Because of them, I don't drink as much coffee as I used to.  Plus the inspirational messages attached to the bag are a great bonus.

Music is an important part of my life because it keeps me sane.  I don't like the majority of modern music. But I have been digging the song "Shut Up and Dance With Me" for some reason. It is so upbeat that you can't help but sing along. Savage Garden or Darren Hayes are almost always playing, too. Darren Hayes will forever be my favorite. The Broods and James Bay are new favorites of mine that you need to check out on Spotify.
There you have it. This isn't everything I've been liking this month, but these products are at the top of the list.
What is on your favorites list for the month?
I will be back soon with a review of Rimmel's new Show Off Lip Velvets. =)
