My January 2017 Beauty Favorites

By Kwilliford @ExquisiteEczema
Month number 1 of 2017 has come and gone. Since I didn't do a December favorites post, I have a lot to talk about this time. You might want to get comfy and grab a snack.

First up is going to be the Too Faced Sweet Peach Eyeshadow Palette. I used this palette non-stop the first couple of weeks of January. I had to force myself to use some of my other eyeshadows. The shadows are so pigmented, smooth, and easy to blend. If you haven't picked it up yet, you must! I have also been loving the Too Faced Sweet Peach Glow Palette. I know a lot of people don't like it because of the pigment. I am not a fan of pigmented blush or bronzer, so it is fantastic for me.

Wet n Wild's Spring Collection is proving to be amazing so far, but my favorite products are by far the Photo Focus Foundation and Setting Powder. It has good coverage and it doesn't separate on me. It also looks amazing in pictures, which is highly important for me. I'm planning on having a review up on the foundation sometime next week. I also really like their Lash Renegade Mascara.

I've been using the same mousse on my hair for a very, very long time. My best friend told me about the Coconut and Hibiscus Curl Enhancing Smoothie by Shea Moisture. If you have curly hair, you need to try this. It defines my curls and tames my frizz without weighing my hair down or making it crunchy. My hair honestly has not looked this good in ages. It comes in 2 sizes, but I recommend just getting the 12 oz tub. Chances are, you'll wish you had.
Liquid lipsticks are something you either love or hate. I happen to love them. Lately, my favorite combination has been Huda Beauty's Lip Contour and Liquid Lipstick in Trendsetter. This combination is warm toned perfection. The pigment is great, application is a breeze, and it isn't drying. Two other lipsticks that I have been loving are Maybelline's Almond Rose and NYX's Pin Up Pout Lipstick in Almost Famous. Both of these are great for everyday wear and they stay on extremely well without drying out your lips. Even my mom loves the NYX one and she is even more picky about lipstick than me.

DermaE sent me this awhile back, but I didn't really start using it until the beginning of January. Their MicroDermabrasion Scrub is the perfect balance of effective and gentle. I have tried a lot of scrubs that are too gentle and don't do a single thing for my skin. This scrub is abrasive enough to actually make a difference, but not so abrasive that it will irritate your skin. Plus it also smells really good.
Another skincare favorite for the month is a DIY face mask. I got this idea from @farahdhukai  on Instagram. It is an egg white and sugar mask, and it works very well. My skin feels so clean and smooth after using it. A lot of times, I will use the Leaders Bye Bye to Dry Sheet Mask afterwards because that egg mask can be a teensy bit drying. This takes away the dryness without making my skin oily. My last skincare favorite is The Body Shop's Tea Tree Anti Imperfection Daily Solution. I have been using this every morning since Christmas and the frequency of breakouts has decrease already. The longer I use it, the more improvement I see. Plus the scent of tea tree in the morning is very refreshing.

I actually have some nail products to chat about it. I am awful at doing my nails, so I don't talk about polish very much. One shade that I can say you must add to your collection is Merida by Zoya. It is an emerald green with blue and gold shimmer. This next product is being discontinued, but it goes in and out of stock. I have heard plenty of people rave about the Sephora Formula X Delete All Polish Remover. Now that I have tried it for myself, it is all 100% true.

For the last two or three months, my finger tips and nails have looked horrible. The skin has been so dry, flaky, red, and itchy. My nails have so many ridges and dents in them. I have pretty bad hand eczema, but it never crossed my mind that you could get eczema of the fingernails. It is mostly caused by moisture, and I do a ton of dishes. Anyways, I bought the Sally Hansen Color Therapy Cuticle Oil and Pro FX Super Greens. The oil has made the skin around my nails look a thousand times better (with the help of my eczema cream) and the Super Greens has made my nails a lot stronger. They still have a long way to go, but they are a thousand times better.

Setting sprays are something I don't use a lot. However, Milani's new Make It Last Spray is pretty amazing. It takes away any powdery finish and makes your makeup look like a second skin. I'll do a full review on it, so I won't say too much. Just know it is really, really good.
I don't talk about perfumes much, but I am kind of in love with Lancome's Tresor Midnight Rose Perfume. This was a Christmas gift and I have used it every day since. It smells absolutely amazing. It is a fantastic blend of sweet and musky. The main notes are raspberry, rose, vanilla, and musk. The bottle is also pretty, which is a nice bonus.

I argued with myself for awhile before buying Kat Von D's Alchemist Palette. I already had two of the NYX Duo Chromatic Illuminators (also a favorite) and I love those. Once I swatched the Alchemist Palette, I couldn't help myself. The powders are so pigmented and intense! They also make stunning eyshadows. The pans are really small, though. If you don't want the Alchemist Palette, the NYX powders are gorgeous and amazing, too.

My last favorite is Maybelline's Brow Precise Perfecting Highlighter. Sure, I could just use concealer to shape my brows. For some reason, though, they just look better when I use this stuff.

I apologize for this post being so long, but I had a lot to talk about! There have been so many amazing products released and I didn't want to leave anything out. What were your favorites for January?
