My First Birchbox - the September Edition

By Becca @glowgetterbecca

My First Birchbox arrived this week!! It was all very exciting. Who doesn't like getting something through the post (not bills)? Especially nice little beauty surprises!
In my box, I received:
  • Révérence de Bastien Nail Polish - I love my nail polishes, and I really love my reds, so this was a great addition to the box for me. There were three shades available - a deep burgundy, a bright coral and a classic red. I received the classic red and my only complaint is that I want all three! I hadn't heard of this brand before, but I like this polish a lot. It's very pigmented - almost fully opaque with just one coat.
  • ModelCo. Party Proof Lipstick - This is a nice sheer pink lipstick. It's quite subtle - very easy to wear and feels very moisturising on my lips.
  • Aromatherapy Associates Revive Body Gel - I haven't tried this yet, but there are lots of AA products that I want to try, so I'm looking forward to giving this a go. This invigorating gel is meant to even out skin tone and encourage circulation. Sounds good.
  • Molton Brown Ylang-Ylang Nourishing Body Lotion - I'm not too fussed about body lotion, as long as it does the job. This one smells nice, but I prefer thicker body butters (think body shop consistency).
  • Bioderma Sensibio H2O- This is the only product in the box that I already own (and use daily). I actually recently went over to France and bought a slightly less mini bottle of the same stuff (you can see it in my France haul, here). But I don't mind, because it the CUTEST thing I haveeverseen - no?

The box also contained a little "lifestyle extra" in the form of a Green&Black's chocolate bar, which is miraculously still intact. Green&Black's is one of my favourites, so it won't be for long!
...

This is the first sample box of any kind that I have received, so I have no point of reference, but overall, I was pleased with what I received. It was fun to open it up and try some new products. I purchased my box via LivingSocial - the deal was for a 6-month subscription for £38, instead of the usual £50+p&p. The offer was too good to miss for me - I'm not sure I would have paid the full £60+ for 6 months otherwise.

Who else has a Birchbox subscription? What did you think of this month's box? Do you have a preferred sample subscription? I'm up for suggestions!
