My Current Drugstore Beauty Favourites

Whenever I head to the drugstore, I can't help but pick something up. Maybe it's a 'beauty blogger' thing, but I think it's more like a 'every woman across the globe does the same thing' thing.  Recently I've picked up a few things that I just couldn't help but mention to you.  Actually, I've found so many great things at the drugstore recently that I've barely even looked at high end products. (My bank account is feeling the benefit!)

If ever I am in Boots or Superdrug, the first counter I head to is Maybelline. I always love seeing what new products they have to offer and rarely read any bad reviews for the brand.  After hearing there were new shades being released of the 24 hour color tattoo's, I was instantly determined to feast my eyes on them.  The shade I was most drawn to was a metallic purple with pink tones called "Metallic Pomegranate".

If there was a cream version of Mac Cranberry, I would say it'd be pretty similar to this shade.  In terms or consistency and lasting power, the Maybelline 24 Hour Colour Tattoo's are the real deal. 24 Hours might be a little bit beyond it's lasting power, but not far off! and at £4.99 (on offer in Superdrug) these are a bargain that I couldn't really resist.
Also from Maybelline is the "brow drama" that has been released for a little while now, but I had never really felt compelled to pick it up - that was until the goddess of brows and all things makeup that is Sam Chapman from Pixiwoo recommended it...
Anything that is good enough for Sam (or Nic!) is good enough for me and so I was more than happy to give this a whirl.  The wand is so unique and really is targeted towards eyebrows rather than the standard mascara wand.
Another brand that I've been really impressed with recently is 'Collection' who are really bringing their A-game for me right now.  The 24 hour extreme eyeliners are definitely my favorite drugstore eyeliner pens - high end included!

I picked up the blue and the purple ones instead of the black that I would go for normally.  I like wearing them with no eyeshadow and relatively winged out. I just love that it feels really different without looking too '90's kid'.
Also from Collection was the "Work The Colour" Eyebrow kit.  The set has a little brush and two brow colours - one of which is a dark brown, and the other is black - there is a third color but this is for highlighting at the brow bone rather than using it as a brow color. They are pretty darn pigmented and are completely matte. I was most impressed with the little clear brow gel that is included - for something like £3.49, this set is a complete steal.
I have also been loving two coral colours from Revlon. Normally, coral just isn't my shade - the orange tone doesn't work so well with my pale skin tone for some reason but these products work for me. I apply the Revlon Lip Butter in "Tutti Frutti" with a really light hand and blend it in using my finger. The nail polish is such a pretty pearly coral with gold undertones. It needs a good two coats if a full coverage is your thing.  For me, these both have pring Summerstamped all over them.
From Kiko, I've been loving the Wild Lashes Volume Mascara.  Again, this has been released for a little while now but was a bit of a rediscovery for me..
The wand is what I love most about the product. It's bobbly and has a whole bunch of different shaped and sized bristles on the wand. It curves in the middle and really provides a lot of lift as well as volume to the lashes. I don't get any clumping with this mascara and I only ever need one coat - two for a cheeky night out.
My final two items are both complexion based.  First off is a primer from Maxfactor - again not a new product, but I've been using this more recently due to the change in seasons and needing to keep my foundation in one place for long periods of time. This is the perfect base and really does keep my foundation in place without feeling oily whatsoever despite containing SPF 20.
Finally for my current drugstore beauty favourites is the L'oreal Infallible 24 Hour Matte foundation.  This feels a lot like a mousse which normally isn't really my thing, but I like it on this occasion because it doesn't feel too thick on my skin.  It does have a medium coverage which could definitely be built up into a full coverage. I love that it's so long lasting and is really matte without making me look like a porcelain doll. In fact, this would probably be near the top of my all time favorite foundations, which at £9.99 is warmly welcomed!
That about wraps it up! What drugstore products are you loving right now? I am always looking to add new things to my wish list so please do let me know!
