My Current 15 Mascara Wardrobe – Loves, Likes and Dislikes

By Triedandtestedblogger @triedtestedblog

If there’s one product I couldn’t live without, it’s mascara! I constantly have so many on the go that I never really adhere to the 3 month rule and when it comes to finding a mascara I love, I look for a budge proof formula that adds amazing length and volume.

Today I’ll be sharing my thoughts on all the mascaras below and admittedly, since this photo was taken, I’ve actually opened quite a few more mascaras too but I’ll be reviewing them another time!

Benefit Cosmetics They’re Real! Mascara – A constant staple of mine, I think this mascara really is worth the hype. It adds amazing length, volume and definition with a flake free and smudge proof formula. The only issue is that it can be hard to remove unless you use a strong or oil based makeup remover.

Urban Decay Subversion Lash Primer – I’ve never met a lash primer I didn’t love and this UD one is no exception. The bristled brush allows you to get to the root of the lashes and apply the primer, allowing mascara worn on top to deliver even more volume, length and definition. This primer also ensures my mascara stays put for longer throughout the day.

Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara – A must have for me as there aren’t many mascaras that don’t smudge or flake on my lower lash line. The tiny brush head allows you to get to the root of the lower lashes and deliver amazing volume and length. This formula doesn’t budge all day.

It Cosmetics Hello Lashes Mascara – Being the first product I tried from the brand, I had high hopes. The mascara wand features short plastic bristles and a ball at the end (which is great used horizontally on the lower lashes) and the formula is amazingly lifting and lengthening but it does smudge on which is a real shame so I have to use a lash primer underneath to help prolong the wear time.

AVON Mega Effects Mascara* – This mascara is probably one you’ve all seen with its unique, paint brush like design. I think the formula of the mascara is fabulous for everyday as it provides some volume, length and definition and the brush is great to use on the lower lashes but on the top lashes, the brush is quite difficult to use so it isn’t a mascara that can be applied quickly.

L’Oreal Paris Miss Manga Mega Volume Collagen Mascara – The flexible wand is something you need to get used too but the tapered plastic brush head is wonderful at delivering both volume and length to the lashes very quickly and could definitely take you from day to night whilst staying smudge and flake free.

Urban Decay Perversion Mascara – Being a huge fan of the accompanying primer, I was actually quite disappointed with this mascara! It didn’t wow me in any way as the formula only provided a very natural finish, even with 2 coats and it didn’t have a very long wear time either as I experienced some flaking.

Max Factor Masterpiece Transform High Impact Volumising Mascara – This mascara definitely delivers on high impact with its jet black volumising formula which leave your lashes looking thick and dark. It features a thin, plastic wand which coats the lashes generously with the long lasting formula. However, if you’re looking for a lengthening mascara, this isn’t the one for you.

Rimmel London Scandaleyes XX-Treme Mascara* – A great all round, everyday mascara. I have a full review here.

Poni Cosmetics The White Knight Mascara* – If you’re looking for an everyday mascara that stays put and is easy to remove at the end of the day, then this mascara is for you! It features a 2 in 1 volumising and lengthening spiral brush and the formula is tubing, meaning no panda eyes when you go to remove it!

Burberry Bold Lash Mascara – Beautifully packaged and perfumed, this mascara features a tapered bristle brush which allows for easy application for both the upper and lower lashes. The formula is jet black and provides great separation and volume that’s stays put all day. Unfortunately I do find that the brush picks up too much product so this mascara is one you want to wipe off before use.

Model’s Prefer Bold and Beautiful High Impact Mascara – This mascara features a huge plastic brush but is a lovely choice if you’re looking for a versatile, all in one mascara. The first coat leaves lashes looking very natural but you can build it up to produce lovely lengthened and volumised lashes. On me, the formula doesn’t work on my lower lashes as I find that it smudges but it works well on my upper lashes.

Australis Fierce Eyes Volumising Mascara* – With a wide, plastic brush, this mascara is definitely more on the natural side, even with a coat or two. As someone who love big, bold lashes, this isn’t a mascara I reach for on a daily basis as it unfortunately didn’t deliver the volume I had hoped and it does tend to smudge.

Max Factor Masterpiece Glamour Extensions 3 in 1 Volumising Mascara – Featuring a thin plastic brush, this mascara really impressed me with its long wearing and volumising yet lengthening formula. Although it does take a coat or two to produce the type of lashes I prefer, it’s quick and easy to apply, leaving you with amazing long and lush lashes that last all day.

Maybelline New York Lash Sensational Mascara – With a half moon shaped brush, this mascara is one of my new favourites! The brush allows you to coat those hard to reach, inner corner lashes with its lasting formula. I’ll be fully reviewing this mascara on the blog soon.

What are some of your favorite mascaras?
