Mushrooms for Your Face? Chaga Mushroom Organic Facial Serum, a Hidden Natural Gem

By Rockitnapptural @Rockitnapptural

A few months ago, I received a bottle of the Chaga Face Serum to try in my skincare routine.  My skin usually becomes dry in the winter and I'm always searching for the perfect moisturizer for my skin. There were some pretty interesting ingredients in the face serum, and when I noticed Chaga Mushrooms as the first ingredient, I became curious as to what this was and how it would benefit my skin. After some research, I discovered that Chaga Mushrooms could be my new favorite natural skincare discovery.

Chaga Facial Serum Ingredients
I love the fact that the face serum contains 100% all natural and organic ingredients. The ingredients are: Chaga Mushrooms, Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Organic Virgin Coconut Oil, Organic Raw, Honey, Organic Lavender Essential oil, Love & Grace
What are Chaga Mushrooms?
Chaga mushrooms are a fungus usually found on birch trees. It contain the highest level of superoxide dismutase (SOD) detected in any food or herb on the planet. Supposedly, they are super healthy and help to regenerate skin cells. It is traditionally ground into a fine powder and consumed as a tea.
7 Amazing Facts about the Chaga Mushroom Facial Serum:
  1. Contains the highest level of the enzyme superoxide ismutase (SOD), which plays a role in keeping cells healthy
  2. Has an anti-inflammatory for the body
  3. Repairs cells and reduces the damage done by free radicals
  4. Contains powerful antioxidant properties
  5. Helps the body use zinc, copper and magnese
  6. Contains vitamins B1, B2, B3, D2, K and zinc
  7. Neutralizes free radicals that cause wrinkles and precancerous cell changes
The Verdict:
The Chaga Face Serum has a very earthy and somewhat medicinal scent to it, but isn't overwhelming to the point of intolerance. The face serum is light and not too oily. I used the oil on a clean, wet face and it was very easy to spread on my skin. A little bit of the face serum goes a long way, which ensures that you get your money's worth.
After using the oil for a couple of weeks, I did notice less peeling around my nose and forehead area. These areas are mostly prone to peeling in the colder months, and I usually use cocoa butter or shea butter but my skin goes back to flaking after a few hours. The Chaga mushroom seemed to help a lot with the peeling, although I did still use shea butter on my face along with the serum on some occasions.
