I swatched them over several different colours to see what work best. I found a black base color worked best with gold and silver, but over powered the rest. A white base, just didn't work for me, and clashing colours looked too much like a 12 year old had a rave in their Mum's make up cupboard. I decided on using a different shade of the chosen glitter polish worked best.
I found the consistency on the polish was actually quiet thin, and the brush is quiet small, so I had to do quite a few dips and strokes pretty quickly to cover the whole nail before it started to crack. The crackle itself is quiet subtle compared to Barry M's which looks like deep ridges.
Unfortunately, these haven't changed my view on crackle varnishes, but if these are up your street I think they are a great alternative to the original thick matte nail crackles. What do you think of crackle polishes? Are they your thing? Will you be trying MUA's glitter ones? I'd love to know.
