Hey Girls..
I am back again. I am really sorry about MIA. In this post I am going to review a foundation from one of my very favourite brands, Make Up Academy.
It is the Make Up Academy MUA Matte Perfect Shine Control Foundation in Natural.
Price: £2.00 for 35ml
About the product: (from their website here)
The perfect blend of skin care and make up, the Matte Perfect Shine Control Foundation leaves your skin with a flawless matte finish whilst keeping shine at bay all day. The light-weight formula evens and enhances your facial features without hiding the skin and the sheer soft hint of colour gives your skin a healthy dewy glow all day!
What they say about this product:
‘To achieve flawless full coverage with no streaking make sure you apply your Matte Perfect Foundation using F2 MUA Pro Foundation brush. Buff the foundation onto the skin using circular motions to mesh the foundation with your skin as much as possible’ - Karla Powell, MUA’s Head of Make-up Artistry
With 3 shades, Make Up Academy’s Matte Perfect Foundation has been designed to suits all skin tones. It is perfect for all skin types including the most sensitive.
Directions:
1. Apply your MUA Matte Perfect Foundation onto your brush or onto your fingers.
2. Using your MUA brush or fingers blend the concealer outward from the center of the face using circular motions until it disappears into your natural skin tone.
3. Dust the MUA Matte Perfect Loose Powder over your foundation before it dries completely, helping it to set and ensuring your foundation lasts all day.
Package:
This comes in a thick tube with a screw cap. The tube is a skin/wheatish coloured one with a white cap. Looks pretty :)
My Experience with the product:
The foundation comes in 3 variants.
Fair,Natural and Almond. After doing some R and D, I chose the shade natural which I felt suits me.
Well, I must say it didn't disappoint me. The shade suited my skintone (I'm not tanned when I used it :D )
The foundation is super creamy and very little product is required to cover up the entire face.
The shade is buildable. You can create a fairer look with a little extra drops of foundation.
When I used it, I was expecting a proper matte finish with no glitters in the product. But unfortunately, I could notice that there are very minute glitters embedded in the cream.
When you apply and face strong light, the glitter particles are going to shine, which I felt good when you are in a night scene and little too much in the day light.
The product spreads on amazingly well. I dot the product all over my face and then connect and this foundation made the job easy.
I felt the product must be topped/dusted with some talc/powder because I felt it actually made my skin Litttle greasy..
But once I dust with some pressed powder I am all set.
It stays on without creating any mess even if you sweat, drench in rain etc.
Shine control?
Well, you need to rely upon a pressed powder for this.
Swatches:
Here are the pictures of the product. The original cream and when blended.
Can you see the shimmer??
Pros:
1.Gives a medium coverage.
2.Makes the skin look matte yet with a glow.
3.The shade is buildable.
4.Affordable.
5.Product quantity is more and it can last for a long time.
6.Subtle shimmer particles which quickly reflect light.
7.The shade range is quite okay.
8.Package is nice and travel friendly.
Cons:
1.You need to have a very good set up powder(read talc/pressed/loose powder).
2.Shimmers may be.
3.Availability.
Final Words:
Well, it comes from the house of MakupAcademy, it means you can always try it out. This particular product is super good for dry to normal skinned girls. I have an oily skin and I prefer using it in rainy and winter seasons. Rest, you can go for the product.
XoXo
