Hey There,
I hope you all have had a lovely weekend, and enjoying a lazy Sunday afternoon like me. With Mothers day only a week away, it seemed only appropriate to discuss some gift ideas with you all on the blog today.
I love Mothers day, as it makes us all focus on the amazing women in our lives, and gives us all a chance to show our mums how much we appreciate them. My mum is an incredible woman, she is my role model and an inspiration. She is so strong and hard-working, (I don’t know how she does it all), I go to her about everything and I take her word on everything, (Even when it comes to my hair). She is definitely a super-mum.
The only problem with my mum, is she never likes a fuss. She is such a generous person, always looking after everyone else, I think she finds it hard to sit back and relax. So when we want to make a big deal over her, (Like her birthday), she often will say ‘I don’t want a big fuss, lets just go for a family meal’… So that is what we will be doing with her this weekend.
I was kind of hoping we could take her on a Spa day, but a meal it is. She has been moaning this past week that she doesn’t have any clothes, (Don’t all us females say this), so I think a little shopping trip could be on the cards as well.
I know I find it hard getting gift ideas together, (Especially with a mum who doesn’t like a fuss). So here are some ideas to inspire you for the perfect present.
I know this first suggestion, is probably the most standard gift given on Mother’s day, (Along with chocolates and flowers), but personally, (Being beauty obsessed), I don’t think you can go wrong with some anti-ageing products, especially an indulgent skincare set from Decleor…
Decleor’s Excellence De L’age Global Anti-Ageing Colletion, (£82.00). This includes:
Aroma Cleanse Cleansing Cream 50ml
Excellence De L’Age Sublime Regenerating Cream 50m
Aromessence™ Excellence 5ml
Neck and Décolleté Concentrate 15ml
Excellence De L’Age Night Balm 2.5ml
Or for the mums who love to get glammed up, and just enjoy wearing make-up, why not look at the YSL mothers day gift sets.
Their Touche Eclat gift set is only £25.00, which comes with a full size Touche Eclat, (A favourite of mine), perfect for highlighting under the eyes and cheeks bone. It comes with a mini version of their Babydoll mascara, (Which I have also heard good things about), and an anti-ageing eye cream.
If your mums like mine, and she loves to burn candles, (We have about ten, which she alternates each night), then why not splash out on a luxury candle from Jo Malone. The prices range from £20.00+, but their aromas are incredible, and they have so many scents to choose from.
Now my mum is an amazing cook, but I wouldn’t say she loves to bake, and I don’t think she has ever hosted a dinner party, (Well maybe once or twice). So anything related to the kitchen, probably wouldn’t go down as well as a bottle of wine. I know so many mums who enjoy cake making, or cooking for the five thousand, so if this sounds like your mum why not buy her a recipe book, some cooking utensils or kitchen gadgets, or my personal favourite, some Emma Bridgewater mugs, (Perfect, for when she’s having people over for a cuppa tea).
To finish of my Mothers day gift guide, my final suggestion is a decent bottle of wine and some detailed wine glasses, (Something my mum would appreciate). I really like the Lolita range at John Lewis (£18.00+), my mum already owns a couple of Lolita wine glasses, and I just love the artistic spin on it, some of the designs are so creative and fun.
I hope this gift guide has helped, let me know of any different ideas that you have.
WHAT WILL YOU BE BUYING YOUR MUM THIS MOTHERS DAY?
Lots of love,
KBxx
