All of these were taken on Tuesday -- and through a somewhat cloudy double-paned window, hence the blurriness..
I especially love watching the crows -- they perch high in the big tree at the foot of our yard and keep a lookout. Only rarely do they came near the house.
Titmice are sweet looking with their soft black eyes...
Crow remains aloof...
Nuthatches usually are sleek and dapper dudes -- but this one's puffed up due to the cold -- we actually had a bit of snow on Tuesday though it quickly disappeared...
Titmouse's rusty waistcoat is very fine looking...
I think the crows may be watching me...
I tend to just call them all sparrows (there are 25 different sorts in my book of eastern birds) but I think this is a White-Throated Sparrow.
A chickadee (Carolina or Black-Capped -- I can't tell) waits for his turn at the feeder...
The crows just wait...
A mourning dove keeping her feet warm . . .
The picture I wish I gotten: John was on his way to town and down near the river he saw a Bald Eagle dining on possum roadkill . . . he didn't have time to get a picture. . . .
And one last crow...
