Montane Summer Spine Races 2024

More of the Montane Summer Spine Races 2024 got underway today. The full 268 mile Spine race starts this morning at 8:00am, Sunday 16th June.

The Montane Summer Spine is a non-stop, 268 mile race along the most iconic national trail in Britain; the Pennine Way. Beginning from Edale in Derbyshire, runners have a time limit of 156 hours to reach the elusive village of Kirk Yetholm in the Scottish Borders. Molly Browne has won the Montane Summer Spine Sprint 2024 and set a new Course Record!

Molly was 4th overall, arriving just a minute behind Paul Johnstone and Liam Hinshelwood, who took joint 2nd, and took 11 minutes off Hannah Rickman's course record finishing in 8:30:29. This was Molly's first ultra!
Second was Lizzie Broughton 9:31:21 and third was Debbie Martin-Consani in 10:10:38.

Stephen Earle is the men's winner of the 46 mile Montane Summer Spine Sprint 2024 finishing in 8:21:49.
