Skipper Mohammad Hafeez’s blazing half-ton inspired Lahore Lions to a comfortable seven-wicket victory over Karachi Zebras in their opening match of Faysal Bank T20 Cup at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore on Saturday.
Professor cracked 43-ball 53 and shared 67-run third-wicket stand with Umar Akmal (43* off 26) as hosts overhauled the modest 142-run target with 11 balls to spare.
Hafeez took over the captaincy from Mohammad Yousaf, who refused to shoulder the responsibility minutes before the Lions’ tournament-opener.
