Model Off (Shoulder) Duty: Rosegal Review & Lookbook

So the off shoulder trend is in, and will live on for good reason. With a sweltering local climate, one does not need to better reason than to bare those sexy neck and collar bones. In collaboration with Rosegal, I had a blast picking out a few outfits to review and put together a summer lookbook!

Rustic Basics

Believe in the power of staples, because boy can it make a difference! Had a work meeting prior but since it was Friday and comfort was key; what better way then to mix 'business with pleasure'! I'm loving the breezy vibes of this cotton off-shoulder top.

I love the cool airy yet soft cotton material, and it has a tinge of structure so that it flares out nicely instead of resting limply on the body. Plus, the elasticity isn't too tight, and its very much opaque without having to worry about boo-boos. Instead of pairing with black accents; I opted for a nude bag and slingback heels to keep the look light.

Formality & Folds
I absolutely could not resist this little mint green number the moment I saw it. The cut was fabulous, with a origami-esque off shoulder feature, waistline darting and a pleating to give the skirt area more flounce and movement. The material though not sheer at all, was thoughtfully hemmed in with a silky inner lining.

Urban Nauticals
Of the whole haul, I loved this the best; this blue stripey piece got just fits me in all the right places. The billowing sleeves, the cinched wast and a flattering a-line flare...yes please! I loved it so much even wore it for Kiehl's 165th Anniversary Media Event despite its all black dress code, and got so much compliments for it.

And don't get me started on this CHLOE inspired crossbody! It comes with 3 straps, the chain and short top handle one you see pictured below, and a longer adjustable red strap. The luxe appearance does not end here: the interior has a luscious suede-like lining and mini pockets.

The only bone I'd have to pick is that the elastic waistband tends to flip inside the material as its not sewn down, so it sometimes gives a strand scrunched appearance. Nonetheless, its nothing a great belt can't solve.

Embroidered Threads

If you have been following me on my blog for the longest time, you'll know I'm a sucker for jumpsuits and rompers. Keeping in theme with the lookbook, I opted for this simple bell sleeve cotton playsuit. I was worried it would be sheer but thankfully the bottom comes full lined. So opaque that I had no qualms walking around Arab Street even with dark knickers on.

Cannot get enough of the gorgeous embroidery motifs!
