Mobile Dating Apps

Looks like the dating industry is not only alive and well- it’s thriving. According to Flurry Analytics, Americans are using more dating apps than all other apps combined. The good news for daters is that there are lots of folks out there looking for compatible partners.

If you are one of the only singles who haven’t heard of dating apps- they are essentially a tool to use with your mobile phone that allows you not only to view someone’s profile, but to also text back and forth with them, learn their location- and if you like what you see and hear, meet them in person.

They are advertised more as a social networking tool because their use is more casual and last minute than when two people meet online through a dating site and communicate for awhile, eventually agreeing to meet or to call it quits.

Concerns have been raised that they could be used to stalk someone, even though they don’t allow a user to give a specific location- just a general one. However, if a stalker finds the right neighborhood, they could spot their target. So, like everything, caution and safety need to be employed right from the start.

I would recommend the use of dating apps to anyone who is sincere about meeting new people and finding compatible folks to date. It’s also a very convenient tool for those who work long hours and live in cities where it is hard to find ways to connect with others. When employed with realistic expectations, caution and a good dose of common sense- they could help you meet new friends or even your Mr. or Ms Right.
