In 2011 Canadian singer-songwriter Justin Lamoureux led a wealth of musicians to the process of recording a new album by his folk band Midwest Dilemma. Shortly after that the songs were shelved and it seemed that the Searching For The Cure For Loneliness would never see the light of day, but in 2019 mixing began and in fits and starts Ian Aeillo's hard work was done in 2023 and a brand new song, Stolen Car, was added to Lamoureux's vision o creating a musical autobiography, genealogy and roadtrip rolled into one.
Searching For The Cure For Loneliness is subtle and luscious, an album that bustles with life in all its facets. If The Band had decided to go orchestral by way of instruments associated with country, it would have sounded like this. After more than a decade in limbo, it blows the competition in the Americana out of the water.
