MGM MACAU Brings Appreciation for Art That is Fun for Everyone

By A Beauty Feature @abeautyfeature

MGM kicks off its “Fun for Everyone” campaign this month! The program will include a sculpture collection by legendary French artist Edgar Degas exhibited at MGM Art Space, complimented by the highly anticipated return of the colorful, large butterflies hovering the Grande Praça.

Edgar Degas – Figures in Motion

A highlight program under Le French May, Edgar Degas – Figures in Motion presents 74 pieces of bronze sculpture never before been shown in Asia, including the famous Little Dancer, Aged Fourteen. Degas is known as one of the founders of Impressionism and is famous for his paintings, sculptures, prints and drawings.  Curated by Dalit L. Durst of M.T. Abraham Foundation for the Visual Arts, guests will rediscover the era of Degas’ most glorious years and the Paris that he knew, through his timeless art pieces, focusing on three subjects Degas is known for: Horses, Dancers, and Bathing Women. The exhibition is also paired with interactive elements including guides to walk guests through the story of the art and opportunities for fun photos.

The exhibition is co-presented by Le French May and M.T. Abraham Foundation for the Visual Arts, supported by the French Consulate General of France in Hong Kong & Macau, and exclusively sponsored by MGM.

Exhibition Dates:   April 29, 2016 – November 20, 2016

Opening Hours:   12pm – 9pm. Closed on Mondays (except public holidays)

Venue:   MGM Art Space

Admission:   Free

Butterfly Garden at the Grande Praça

One of the most beloved themes of MGM’s decorative installations – the large butterflies, are making their way back to Grande Praça! Over 160 vibrant Monarch and Morpho butterflies made in synthetic glass hover above young Laurel trees and swivel among giant Datura blossoms, making it the perfect indoor garden for quality time and picture-perfect moments with family and friends.

The U.S. based maestro of oversized visual display art Stephen Stefanou is once again taking charge of embellishing Grande Praça with colorful butterflies that are much adored by all. Immerse into a lively Butterfly Garden where guests are greeted by a kaleidoscope of butterflies (wingspan of 4’ by 8’) meticulously created to epitomize the elegance of their motion. With the vision to get patrons up close to the butterflies for a whole new experience, Stefanou specially placed six large butterflies (wingspan of 24’ by 24’ for the largest of the six) at a lower elevation, allowing an impeccable juxtaposition to the Aquarium in the heart of Grande Praça.

MGM Fun for Everyone

A wide array of fun and entertainment is in store for everyone’s enjoyment beginning in May! Gourmet themed dinners, special tea sets, sweets and treats at MGM MACAU’s signature restaurants and cafes are guaranteed to create great moments for all. Special offers for accommodation, retail and spa as well as social media promotions are not to be missed!
