Melt

By Mike Bullock

I’ve been hanging round for years
Waiting for Your call
Expecting You to sort me out
So I could leap the wall
That held me back from greater things
Than I already did
But time passed by and I got bored
So off I went and hid.

I kept being drawn back to
The place I was before
Still I was avoiding You
Not trying anymore
I knew just what I had to do
But things got in the way
I had to spend more time with You
Each and every day.

So as I strike out once again
To put these matters right
I need Your help to make it clear
That I must fix my sight
Upon a quiet time with You
Distractions out the door
So I can finally reach the place
That I’ve been heading for.
