Hi Everyone,

If you have seen makeup tutorial videos on you tube then you probably know that this concealer is favorite of almost all you tubers and they can’t stop raving about it. I have seen so many of them using this in every makeup tutorial they do for highlighting and for concealing dark circles. This concealer being favorite of so many you tubers  is one of my favorite concealer too (not for concealing but as a highlighter) and I would love it even more if I could get a perfect match for me and not depend on the SAs of the store for the shade match. Nevertheless, I can still get it as it’s about to finish and next time I may get a shade that matches my skin tone perfectly. So let’s move on to know my experience with Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch Highlighting Concealer.Price: Rs. 475 for 1.5 ml

Directions:

Twist bottom of package until product appears on the brush (may take up to 10 twists the first time). Using brush apply concealer to under eye area and on imperfections. Blend in an outward motion.

My Take on Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch Highlighting Concealer:

I have seen so many you tubers using this concealer and raving about it, but I have mostly seen them using it for highlighting which is what it is- a highlighting concealer! I got it few months back and I was looking for a concealer as well as a highlighter that time, I asked the SA about Maybelline concealer which I didn’t know at that time that it was a highlighting concealer and I didn’t need two separate products and nor did I noticed the pack at that moment. So I got this concealer and a highlighter as well but I think this concealer does the job of highlighter very well and I really don’t need a separate highlighter except if I want some shimmery effect from my highlighter then I don’t prefer this or else it’s a good matte highlighter (the one that does not leave shimmer). The SA swatched the shade Ivory on me, I was in my own world and didn’t even notice that this shade would be too light for my dark circles and imperfections as it’s the lightest shade she blended it so well and it looked quite a good match when swatched on my hands so I blindly took this without even noticing the shade, these SAs can trap you in their trick like no one else can, seriously they can hypnotize you!!

I was waiting for the right time to share my review on this concealer and I have used it many times so now is the perfect time to share my experience with it. It comes in a twistable tube with a soft brush like applicator on top from where the product comes out by twisting it and you can directly apply it with that applicator without using your fingers. For the first time, you may have to twist the tube 10-12 times after which you may want to give up but then it does not need that much twists to come out, it comes out with just one single twist, a little effort only for the first time but overall the packaging is convenient and sturdy and hygienic to. See the bottom in the pic from where you have to twist the product!Let me just tell you first that this concealer is not at all for acne, redness and bumps! Nope, you may need a different concealer for those areas and those nasty big bumps. As this is a highlighting concealer, it is best for under eye circles, you can highlight high points of your face like top of your nose, between the brows, above the brow bone, sides of the nose, above the cupid bow of lips and if you use it to cover blemishes it may enhance them rather than covering them up so better not use it on your blemishes and acne and use a separate concealer for those areas.

There is very less of the product inside the tube, 30% is empty and I’m sure I’m going to finish off this concealer soon as I use it a lot and the best part is that the tube is transparent so you can see how much of the product is left and when it will be over.The texture of this concealer is creamy and it goes easily on the skin though dry skin will need to moisturize first or else it can get a little patchy. It creases a bit after few hours but almost all concealers creases on me as I have super dry under eye area. It brightens the under eye area, highlights pretty well and has a good staying power. It’s very easy to apply and blend, I usually blend it with my ring finger but as the shade is the lightest and too light for the under eye area, it makes me look a bit ghostly if you know what I mean, like the under eye area appear whiter than the rest of my face so I dab it on other parts of my face as well just to balance out the whole color of my skin and that extra brightening effect only on my under eye area. It works very good as a highlighter, I love using it to highlight some areas of my face but using it on blemishes can pop them out instead of hiding them so don’t ever use it on blemishes. The coverage of this concealer is pretty good, somewhat medium coverage but the brightening of the under eye area makes it look almost full coverage. The downside of this concealer is that some may find it too pricey as it is used only for concealing the under eye area and also it can be a little patchy and may look rough on dry skin if not used on well moisturized skin and this concealer is not at all for those who have fine lines as it creases so you may not like something that sets in fine lines and enhances them more. Final Thoughts:

With 6 different shades available in this concealer, I suggest you to try out a shade that matches your skin tone, it’s the best for under eye area because it gives that brightening effect which makes under eye area look well rested and bright and is great for highlighting too. But please get a good match for your skin tone and don’t test it on your hands or rely on the store lightning, see it by swatching it on the sides of your face and what matches your skin tone, get a darker shade than that, this way you’ll not end up looking over the top or extra white with this concealer as a shade that matches your skin perfectly in store will also prove to be a bit light for you so get a shade darker than what matches you.
