Maybelline Baby Lips Color Range Lip Balm - Shade Pink Lolita Review

By Pooja_g
Hello lovely ladies! :) Maybelline has recently launched the Baby Lips lip balms in India, which has been a cult favorite of international beauty bloggersand already is a huge success in India too. I have got the shade Pink Lolita from their color range, which is a tinted lip balm in other words, and I am reviewing it today for you all.

PRICE: Rs.150
QUANTITY: 4.5 g
INGREDIENTS:

WHAT IT CLAIMS:  The next generation lip balm is born from Maybelline New York. Adult strength care for baby soft lips in vibrant translucent colors.

  • Translucent color and shine. Infused with pure color system for a translucent pop of color and shine.
  • 6HR continuous moisture. Formula with vitamin E and jojoba oil helps to shed away dryness for supple smooth and cushioned lips all day.
  • Available shades: Cherry kiss, Berry Crush, Coral Flush,  Pink Lolita, Rose Addict

MY EXPERIENCE:  Maybelline Baby Lips lipbalm comes in a retractable tube packaging which is the best packaging for a lipbalm IMO. The texture is non-waxy and smooth, and doesn't turn oily. It feels quite light  on lips and could work as a base for lipsticks.

Coming to the tint, it leaves a light pink tint with a sheen which I actually quite like, though it is not very dark and won't cover pigmentation as such. But, since it has this shine/glossy effect, the light gets reflected back, so to some extent the pigmentation doesn't look so obvious. Lips look soft and supple like a baby's. It hydrates my lips really well and stays for around 3-4 hours (6 hours without any meals/snacks). However, I feel this won't be enough moisturising to heal severely chapped lips. It has got a fruity smell in the tube but I could not find any smell/taste when applied on lips. To sum it up,
WHAT I LIKED:
  • Non-waxy, smooth to apply.
  • Hydrates dry lips and feels very light.
  • Makes lips soft, supple and adds a light pink tint with shine .
  • Lasts 3-4 hours easily.
  • No discernible smell/taste on lips.
  • Comes in a retractable tube packaging.
  • Available in 5 shades.
WHAT I DIDN’T LIKE:
  • The tint might not show up on dark/pigmented lips.
  • Severely dry chapped lips may not find this enough moisturising.
  • Comparatively priced higher than other Maybelline lip balms already available.

VERDICT: Overall I really liked the Maybelline Baby Lips Color Range Lip Balm. I like how it makes my lips look supple and plump. Since we all need to take extra care of our lips in this dry season, this would come really handy. But if you have a problem of severely chapped lips, then you might need something more moisturising than this.
RATINGS:  4.25 out of 5
