Summary:
After finishing my L’Oreal Matte Souffle foundation I decided to look for a similar light foundations, and found the Max Factor Whipped Crème foundation matched my skin tone well. It felt smooth and rubbed in well, and the cover seemed reasonable too, and there are 6 shades to choose from.
This foundation offers a demi-matte finish. I hadn’t heard this expression before, but apparently it gives you matte skin with an illuminating element. This sounded good to me, but I found that the glycerine and the water in the foundation make my skin look and feel really oily and shiny. They are in the foundation to provide hydration to skin, but I don’t agree with the ‘demi-matte’ tagline that this foundation has been given unless you apply a lot of powder on top of the Whipped Crème.
It’s suggested that this foundation is applied with a foundation brush and then buffed into skin with a powder brush, but I haven’t found much difference between using this method or just using my fingertips. In a way that’s a good thing because it makes application quicker and easier.
I do like the texture of the Max Factor Whipped Crème foundation because it’s smooth and doesn’t feel runny, but I don’t think this foundation is worth £9.99 because the results are kinda disappointing. Perhaps it would work better for someone without oily skin, or for someone who isn’t keen on a matte look, but neither of those options relate to me.
