Wow. Just wow. My gut is the deal will backfire on Seattle. Not saying I hope it, but based on some 10-year contracts we've observed in the MLB - i.e. A-Rod - look good in the beginning but turn south when the player fails to live up to expectations.
IMO this is a nice signing by Seattle. They need a big bat in their lineup to challenge the rest of the AL West (minus Houston). I hope it works out for them.
