Male patients make up approximately 40% of Dr. Guida’s practice. According to the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery the number of men whom have undergone cosmetic surgery has increased by 121% since 1997. The massive increase can be attributed to our cultures growing focus on men’s looks. In fact one study indicated that men exceed women in their concern with body image.
Not all men whom elect to have surgery are in a field, such as entertainment, that require a center level of aesthetics. In fact the majority of men whom visit our office are in professions where cosmetic surgery is not a requirement for success. These men come from fields such as finance, law, accounting and even medicine. They are driven by an internal desire to look better for personal contentment and often struggle with their concerns for years before electing to undergo surgery.
