Making Your Own Magic

By Tamera Beardsley @tamerabeardsley

These daysI think there is so much to be said for
Making Your Own Magic
In a world that can seem more uncertaindaily
It becomes so easy for me to list all the things wrong in my life.
All of my fearsbegin to come together like a strong magnetic pull.
And then I am right back in theproverbial rabbit hole.A hole of depression and anxietyI have struggled withmy entire lifeon and off.
If worrying is akin to'praying for what you don't want'
It's up to me and me alone
to make my own Magic.
Find my ownJoy.
Savor in the simple pleasuresI can find every day.

To practiceevery single day
Intentional gratitude.
Practice KindnessGrace and LOVE.
To hold onto all of these as if my life depends on it.
Because it does.

Because I am of an age
where I realize
I literally have a finite timeleft on the planet(I know we all do, but I can feel the realness now)

I don't want to squandermy remaining time

swirling in fear sadnessand worry.
I don't want to drown in disappointment and dread.

I want to Thrive
I want to be a light for otherswhere I can be.
Sometimes we can be a light for others ...

Sometimes we need another's light to see our own way out.

I have been on both sides.
So I know how important it is
to put goodout into the world.

To focus on the good.
To be a mirror back to othersso they can seetheir own worth and importance.
To be a magnetic force for good.
To spread the magic of PositivityLight and Love.

To celebrate the gifts that come with aging.
To no longer feel the need to conform.
To savor and enjoy
the simple pleasure of wearingan outfit that brings me much joythat makes my heart tingle with happiness
Like this fabulous tulle skirt fromSocial Butterflyone of my favorite sites for affordable and dramatic piecesthat are a joy to wear.
Underneath I added my favorite tulle skirtthat I bought in Parisat the Opera.
I added an off the shoulder top
from Zara.

I took this outfitwith my favorite backpack and hat
to one of my very favorite spots inhere inSouthern California
for a walk in the tidewith a glass of wineand my love.
And it was all
Magical.
Every minute.

We created wonderful imagesand wonderful memories.
Memories to push deep into my heart
to remind myselfthe importance of taking the time to
Make Your Own Magic.
To focus on the goodin each and every day
in order to drown out the noise of fear.
To rememberthe words of Coco Chanel
"Beauty begins the momentyou decide to be yourself."

Sometimesit's right therethat the Magic Begins

As always my friends
