A new era of Chanel was ushered in at Paris Fashion Week with the unveiling of the Chanel Haute Couture AW 2019 collection which was staged at the Grand Palais which had been transformed into an opulent, circular library that included over 350,000 books inspired by Coco Chanel’s personal library. Creative director Virginie Viard debuted her first haute couture collection. The outfits which included plenty of tweed separates alongside minidresses and voluminous statement evening gowns all channeled the signature Chanel aesthetic of polished elegance and classic femininity.
