Make Your Own Valentines Day Paper Heart Garland

By Heather Hahn @HeatherHahnn

It’s hard to believe that one of my favorite holidays is creeping up all of the sudden this month. Whether i’m dating somebody or i’m not dating somebody, I always find Valentines Day to be the cutest holiday of them all. I have no idea why, but there is always some strange idea that pops in my head around this time telling me that I “NEED” to decorate for this specific holiday and well, I just love getting crafty!

Not too long ago, I stumbled upon this paper heart garland DIY that I felt would go perfect in my little L.A apartment and that I knew would be a staple piece just for Valentines Day.

What You Will Need:

O Colored Paper

O Double-Stick Tape

O A Pen/Or Pencil

O Clear Thread ( Which Is Best To Purchase At A Fabric Store )

O A Simple Needle

Directions:

Cut colored paper into 3/4″ strips. Fold them in half, or if you want some hearts that are twice as big, splice two strips of paper together at the bottom of each heart with double stick tape. Curl the loose ends around a chopstick or pen.

String the heart garland together from the bottom up with thread. It’s curly and hard to see so you have to fight with it a bit, but it turns out nearly invisible. Push your threaded needle up through the bottom fold of each heart, then use double stick tape to sandwich the thread between the two halves of the curled tops.

Happy Valentines Day!
