Recently Grav3yard Girl made a video about how long make up lasts, to be honest I've never thrown anything away because it's out of date. Only because it's run out or I don't really like it. Anyway her video made me think about how long I have had most of my make up products for. We are also planning on moving in the near future, so I have been going through all my things and basically having a massive clean out.
I didn't get rid of my whole collection but I got rid of a fair few bits. I got rid of so many mascaras, which are only good for 6 months. I have had all of my mascaras apart from one for way over 6 months so I have been left with quite a small collection now.
Another one of my collections that has gone from 7 to 2 is foundation. Foundation has an expiry date from 6-12 months (usually). Again most of mine I've had for over 6 months. I just didn't even think about it and got rid of most of my foundations. I have been suffering from really bad skin recently and I am just really conscience of what I am putting on my skin. There was no sadness when throwing the foundations away as I want my skin to clear up as fast as possible.
They were the bulk of what I threw away but I also threw away 3 MUA lipsticks. I have never used them and although they were cheap they were a total waste of money. Clearing out my collection has made me think, next time I'm going to buy something, will I use it or could I save the money. If you know what I mean?
