So, this week’s picks will be another two-parter. This is a compromise and like any good marriage there have to be sacrifices. So, I am sacrificing studying for you my reader, and like any good marriage you can cook and clean for me. Here is Part I. Remember these are actual emails from actual readers.
Buccaneers @ Vikings-
Dear Matt,
Hey, I am feeling kind of down. I had a great year in 2010, and I was on top of the world. I was the best young quarterback in the league, had so many come-from-behind victories, and was on the fast track to elite status. I was young, good-looking, and rich. What could go wrong? Now, we are terrible. I haven’t been good in two years. What happened? How can I get back to where I was? I’m still the same guy. I came into camp this year in the best shape of my life. We had a new coach that looked primed to change the culture here. All he has down has made us look like dumbasses blitzing on a kneel-down. What can I do? How can we turn this season around?
Josh, Tampa Bay, FL
Well, there is no easy answer here Josh. You guys should be taking advantage of a weak division and make the playoffs, but you guys just haven’t played good. If it’s not the offense, it’s the defense. What’s going on? I don’t know what to tell you. A lot has to do with your decision making. Too many bad throws, too many missed opportunities. Cut off the jerricurl and start using your head. That will fix things faster than you think. Establish the run game, stop the run, make good decisions, and everything will take care of itself. I still believe in you guys, but you got to start doing that before I pick you.
