Lord, why did You die for me
When You knew I would let You down
Lord, You went through that agony
So I would wear a crown
If only I would seek Your face
And put You in Your rightful place
Stop hogging all the time and space
Then You would have the chance
To change the me that I’ve become
Who likes to be the number one
And fit You in when there’s some guilt
That wraps around me like a quilt
There’s parts of me that still rebel
And in my head I know so well
What You have got to offer me
Will change my life eternally.
