Bites and stings:
If an ant, mosquito or a bee bites you, just apply soap on the affected area. This will help in providing you relief from the itching and irritation, as the alkaline constituents in soap neutralizes the acid from the sting. You can also dip a cotton ball in vinegar and apply it on the area that is bitten by these insects. You will get immediate relief from the pain. You may also make a paste by mixing baking soda and apple cider vinegar and apply it on the affected area.
Bad breath:
Add a pinch of baking soda to your tooth paste and brush your teeth with this twice a day.
Body odor:
Dip cotton in white vinegar and dab your under arms with this. This will help you get rid of body odor. Tea tree oil and essential oils like lavender essential oil and peppermint essential oil are also good for getting rid of body odor.
Cough:
You can treat cough by drinking lemon tea with a few drops of ginger juice added. Drinking milk to which honey is added or warm water throughout the day is also very effective for treating cough. You may also have a mixture of ginger juice, lemon and honey.
Constipation:
Bananas are said to be the best remedy for curing constipation. If you have no bananas, try water and fennel seeds instead. Drink this mixture three times daily and this will help in flushing out all toxins from the digestive tract. Mixing Psyllium in a glass of juice and drinking it immediately is another effective remedy. Aloe vera gel mixed in fruits juice is also good for constipation. Have this early in the morning on an empty stomach.
Diarrhea:
Yogurt is a good cure for diarrhea. Fenugreek seeds mixed with a cup of yogurt are also very effective for treating diarrhea. Tender coconut water is another effective remedy. Drinking coconut water instead of plain water helps in providing you energy, and is much better than the multi vitamin that you buy from the market.
Earache:
Warm a teaspoon of sesame oil, to which a clove of garlic is added. Add two drops of this mixture in the ear to get relief. Let it remain inside the ear for about 10 minutes. You can also apply a hot compress on the affected ear to reduce pain and to melt the wax inside your ear.
Heartburn:
Make a concoction by adding equal amounts of honey and apple cider vinegar in a cup of warm water. This mixture helps in providing you immediate relief for heart burns. A glass of cool milk is also a good option, especially if you are pregnant.
Headaches:
Make a paste of cinnamon and add this with water. Apply this on your forehead to get immediate relief from headache. Mix black pepper powder, turmeric powder and a little water, and then heat it gently. Apply this on your forehead. You will get relief within minutes.
Motion sickness:
Many people suffer from motion sickness when they go for a long trip. Ginger is an excellent home remedy for it. Lemon is also effective and it helps in controlling nausea associated with motion sickness. You can suck a ginger or lemon candy when you go for log trips. Drinking ginger tea about one hour prior to the journey is also good for preventing motion sickness. Ginger ale is also found to be effective.
Sunburn:
If you get out in the sun without applying a sunscreen lotion, you may suffer from sunburns. One of the best remedies for it is the gel that you get from the aloe vera leaf. Cut the leaf and take out the gel from inside. Apply this gel on the affected area. Wash off after an hour. Do this twice a day to get relief from sunburn. Another treatment is to dip a cotton ball in solution that is made by mixing equal amounts of vinegar and water. Dab it on the affected area to get relief. You can also use honey to treat sunburn. It has antiseptic properties that help in healing as well as reducing the pain.
Sore throat:
A spoon of honey is one of the best treatments for healing sore throat. Mix one teaspoon of honey in warm water and add a little lemon juice and black pepper. Have this daily till you get relief form sore throat. You can also suck cloves for a few hours to treat sore throat. Mix one teaspoon of powdered garlic with a few drops of milk. This is very effective for treating sore throat. A brew 2 inch slice of ginger warm in water and add half a teaspoon of black pepper and a pinch of turmeric to it. Add honey also and drink this concoction. This will provide you relief from sore throat.
Toothache:
Toothache makes you exhausted with the pain and the swelling on the gums. Place a clove near the aching tooth to get relief form pain and the swelling. Take saline water and mix a pinch of turmeric to it. Gargle with this solution. This can provide you relief from toothache. You can repeat it till the pain is reduced.
