MAC Blankety, YSL #1 Nude Beige

Over the weekend I had the luck of finding two new lipsticks that are easily new Holy Grail shades.  Don't ya love it when that happens?
In a recent post I mentioned my 2 new YSL lipsticks I had picked up and I have now become absolutely addicted to these lippies!  They are without a doubt some of the best quality lipsticks I have ever tried.  So while I was in Sephora over the weekend I picked up one more, YSL Rouge Volupte- Silky Sensual Radiant Lipstick in #1 Nude Beige.  I am completely in love with this color- it's a great neutral shade that is so perfect for everyday wear.  In fact it's my new go to shade and it's definitely going to be a staple lipstick for me from here on out.  Even though it's named Nude Beige it's really more of a pinky-nude shade that has the perfect mix of the two.  It's light enough to work on a variety of skin tones and works with a natural look or a more dramatic smokey eye--it's such a great lipstick and if you're looking to invest in a YSL lipstick I think this is a great shade to start off with.
Next up is MAC's Blankety, a warm nude lipstick that has an amplified finish.  This is my first amplified lipstick and I have to say it's a color that I never thought I'd try simply because I'd always heard that Blankety was a nude for darker skin tones and I'm so fair that I always stuck to my trusty stand bys of Hue and Creme de Nude.  However, since I've been using my St. Tropez Instant Glow Lotion for nights out I found that it made my skin so tan (but not fake looking-this stuff is amazing) that I couldn't wear my usual light nudes and pinks with a smokey eye because they gave me that awful "too-tan-with-too-light-lips-fake-barbie" look--and that, in my opinion, is a look you never ever ever want to go for!
Haha getting back on track, I needed a warmer nude shade that still had some pink in it so that it wouldn't be too brown on me and/or blend in with my tan--another look I try to stay away from.  Now my YSL lipstick solved this problem for me as well (it even works a little better than Blankety depending on how dark my tan is) but I didn't really realize it until after I went to MAC...and well I'm a total lipstick junkie so for me the more the merrier.  (That's a justifiable reason to buy more lipstick, right?)  So I went to MAC and ended up trying on Blankety and was beyond surprised at how much I loved the color!  It's not nearly as dark a nude as I had pictured it in my head, in fact it's a great color that I think a lot of different skin tones can pull off- and one that I will always have in my make up bag from now on.

What are some of your Holy Grail lipsticks??
